Loo Lock - any good or waste of money?

Have very active and mobile 14mth old DD who is very keen on 'posting' items, having just discovered the toilet lid this is now her fav spot. Just been looking online at loo locks - The Mommy's Helper Toilet Seat Lid-Lok. Does anyone have experience with such a device - any good?

Is this a short lived period generally with the little Herbert?s and I should save the money and keep removing her before anything gets dipped?

Oh have tried just keeping the bathroom door shut, full paddy at such an outrageous thing, but maybe should just persevere with this and distract?

i think she'll have a paddy when she finds the loo locked, just as she oes when you shut the door. Probably cheaper and will have same result if you just shut the door. My ds 16 months is a bit obsessed with the toilet too. He only really gets access to it while he's in the bathroom while I run his bath. Occasionally things get in the toilet, so they go in the dishwasher. Oh and I put the toilet roll out of reach.

I tried a very similar lock but TBH, they are rubbish. They fall off really easily.

We have a Babydan lock, it has a big lever than swings over the toilet lid. Much better. That's broken too now though - but it was effective for a good while. Not good when you are in a rush though, bit fiddly to get to the loo when you need it.

They're a pita (so to speak!), half falls off after 30 seconds, the other half stays glued to the lid for years. Guests are bemused and you have to go and help them prise the toilet open every time they want to go, escorting mil to the toilet was particularly enjoyable.

Just shut the door.

Haha ProfYaffle....that's exactly what happened to us Grin total waste of money! Shut the door and definitely move the toilet rolls....DS [13mths] has moved on & discovered the flusher so is more interested in that ( and the noise) than shoving things into it!!
