depends on the finish , is it laquered, waxed ,varnished or natural?
Try some almond oil , theres a special one for furniture if its laquered or varnished. If the damage has seeped right through the layers on a varnished or laquered table then it may need re doing, specialists can come and do it in situ.

If its natural or waxed Id get some solid wax and work it around the whole table surface.

For water marks they recommend cigarette ash mixed with water to make a paste then rubbed into the mark.

It's not water mark, it's a heat ring, A huge oval serving dish size.
