Garden Fencing - does this sound about right?

Had a quote today for fencing across the back of our garden.

They are quoting £775 + vat for approx 12 metres of closeboard fencing with trellis on the top, plus a gateway and gate.

Does this sound reasonable? With vat it will be almost £1k which seems a lot, but we must have it done otherwise DS can get out onto the road.

I had a quote for £1200 once for about 70 foot of 4 foot high fencing. no gates. needless to say we didn't get them to do it. infact dh and bil did it. but it did fall down the following winter - or at least a couple fo the panels!

Instinct tells me it is a lot. Accoding to here materials should be less than £20 per fence panel plus trellis and post. Gates and gateways can be pricey though.
