Need a new washing machine. Comet have got what looks like it ticks all the boxes, for about 250. V. cheap. Is this because Beko is crap, or is it OK? Anyone know?

My old washing machine died while I was stony broke so I settled for a BEKO in desperation. Best move I've ever made - it's fantastic - easy to use, 8KG load (I've got a teenager, sigh) and oh, just dreamy. OK, I'm being really sad about this, but get over your white good snobbery and set yourself free...

Sorry - just realised that my last message might look like I try to wash my 8KG teenager in the BEKO. This is not the case. Yet.

We have a beko washer and a beko drier. We've had the washer about a year and (touch wood) I'm very happy with it so far. The drier we've had for a couple of years now and no problems. They get used on average twice a day.

There was a Beko washer in our flat when we moved in 4 years ago and it's still going strong! It did go wrong twice in the first year and the landlord paid for it to be fixed (the electronic control panel had to be replaced the 2nd time) but since then, no problems. (touch wood!) Grin

Is there a difference with the brand BEKO and beko?

dibdibdub · 29/01/2018 13:42

Our (13 yr old) Beco freezer caught fire yesterday.

my sister dates someone quite senior in Beko - they are pretty good but not as good as miele or bosch. Very well priced for what it is though - and lasts ages!

gizzydog · 14/05/2019 11:08

I have had Beko products for years, washing machines dish washers ovens, average cost is 300 pounds and they have all lasted over 3 years, that means that the machines only cost you 2 pounds a week over a 3+ year period, excellent value for money I wouldn't buy any other brand now .

Beko is NOT a company that uses any old manufacturer. They are, in fact, Turkish and do their own manufacturing. Most recent reviews and tests indicate that whilst they tend to use cheaper materials for the plastics, their internals are very reliable. As for Candy, Candy is the same company as Hoover - you just pay more for the Hoover name. Candy Hoover and Hotpoint have an advantage in that if anything does go wrong with them parts are easy to get hold of.
