Twin 3 wheeler buggies - fixed or swivel wheel?

Hello there, I'm a new mum to mumsnet, expecting my second child in early Feb 05, when my first born will be just 15 months ... I'm after a double 3 wheeler buggy but am not sure what is best - fixed or swivel front wheel? Is a fixed wheel easy to manoeuver with 2? (have bought one from kiddicare already ..should I send it back in favour of the XTS?). Any advice appreciated !

Cheers

Swivel wheel! Easier to steer, IMO.

can you get one that will do either? I've got a mothercare urban detour where the wheel can be locked. Swivel is much nicer on pavements and in town, but on uneven terrain you need a locked one.

swivel - the locking thing on our mothercare one stopped working after a while, but it did have very heavy use for a couple of years and is still going strong with another family..

That's super thanks, but isn't the mothercare urban wider than a standard door at 84cm ?? Do you stuggle getting a double through doors ?

Thanks for confirming my thoughts - back it goes !

def swivel. and if hte jane powertwin is within ur price range it is an excellent tandem three wheeler. can be used as a travel system too.

swivel (for normal use) if you intend climbing mountians with it regularly them go for a fixed, but for the 'normal' around town usage etc definitely swivel!

swivel, mine's a fixed and I've developed arms like a Russian shotputter trying to steer the bloody thing!
