I have just looked at that website and thought they were expensive. I have got two pairs one brown and one Black from Evans. Black ones were £80 and brown ones were £20 in a sale. It might be worth having a look in Evans first at least you can try them on in there.

harpsichordcarrier · 01/11/2005 09:29

ooh thanks... ordered a WIDE FIT pair from Next and they STILL didn't fit
I have perfectly normal legs btw
(though am 38 weeks preg)

dyzzidi · 01/11/2005 09:31

The one I have are Leather not the stretchy plastic type ones so hopefully they will last for years!

beejay · 01/11/2005 09:32

M and S do wide-calfed boots now, cost around £65 and quite nice leather/styles

stitch · 01/11/2005 10:57

beejay, the mand s website doesnt have any calf fitted ones i can see.

stitch · 01/11/2005 11:01

i really want this pair but am hesitant to buy a pair of shoes online.especially as returns have to be paid for.
convince me please

georginars · 01/11/2005 11:01

There is nothing more depressing than trying to put on a pair of boots and they don't do up....Did get one pair from Next but I think they only fitted because I was so determined (i.e. didn't care if I cut off all circulation), and because they had stretchy bits in them.

looking up 'wide fitting boots' on Google brings up loads - Duo is quite expensive

I don't even have large calves and can't get ANY of the boots I've tried on here over my calves. I did ballet for 12 years, but was a size 10 before falling pregnant and STILL couldn't find any boots to fit over my calves.

princesspeahead · 01/11/2005 11:37

I have the opposite problem, boots all look like wellies on me. Tried on 6 pairs in LK Bennett last week and they all flapped around.
Have most success with elasticated ones. boooo.

gingerbear · 01/11/2005 11:40

Duo do measured calves sizes - so if you are slender as a gazelle or as chunky as a hippo, they will fit well.
I am more on the hippo calved side myself.

vickiyumyum · 01/11/2005 11:41

ooh, just ordered a pair form duo hope they are as lovely as they look. i also sawa really nice pair on weloveyourfeet.com although they didn't have measured calf sizes just wide, extra wide.

have to agree with dyzzidi that evans do great bbots (although don't you all go rushing into the Reading store buying the pair i want in thesale LOL!) have seen plenty of non 'plus size' women buying boots in there, they are reasonable prices too, i brought a fab pair of leather look boots that were as nice as my friends ones that she paid £125 for in nine west, for £40! not even in the sale!

oh well if thats the case another pair to hide at the bottom of my wardrobe from dh!

Jbck · 01/11/2005 22:29

Another site altho' quite expensive too & I have no experience but saw them recommended in a mag last week is here , not a massive selection but some beautiful boots. Trouble with Evans is they are also wide fitting in the feet & start at a 4. I'm a narrow 3 but got size 14 legs, Hardly hippo-sized but too big for boot makers apparently!!!

Clarks have two styles ATM, very nice - elegant foot, lowish heels, one with a kitten heel (sort of) and the other with a blocky heel.

piffle · 02/11/2005 13:55

got my gorgeous duo ravenna boots last week, adore adore adore, totally in love with them and will order more when dp lets me see my credit card again....
