Vauxhall Zafira, good or bad cars?

Hi I currently have a Rover 45 which has cost me alot in repairs, it is due to go in for its second head gasket in 2 years!

I want a bigger car, need 7 seats and I believe I wouldnt find the Zafira too big to park.
Can anyone tell me if the car is any good or is it going to break the bank in repairs like my Rover?
I have been looking on Autotrader and the seem rather cheap which has made me worry :)
Thanks Ty Grin

we own a zafira b which was recalled recently as part of a nationwide recall as some models of zafira b's can spontaneously burst into flame so vauxhall are doing a recall to replace parts they think are the cause of this but a group on facebook have set up a petition that they would like people to sign as they still believe that vauxhall have not got to the root cause of the problem so hopefully if i post the link here other mums will sign so hopefully we can get vauxhall to investigate further and definitely find the root cause of why some zafira b models will spontaneously burst into flames without warning, you do not have to have a zafira to sign this petiton so can i please ask if all mums would sign this and lets get this before parliament thank you

Further to the reply on page 1 Vauxhall are incorrect to assert that only cars "with improper repairs" are affected by the fire risk. There have been many cases of cars catching fire that have only ever been serviced and repaired by Vauxhall. I own one but wouldn't buy one because having seen his they have handled this situation I have no faith in them as a company.

Can I just say bailey2015 what you have been told is incorrect. They have out if 1000 resistors found 26 that were manipulated ( not a lot) I started a Facebook campaign after my car fire and can j say I had genuine parts. It's doesn't even cost just £100 to fix either more like £400

I own a Zafira 'b' model, but its the Elite, which according to Vauxhall is not affected as it has electronic climate control, (i remain skeptical about that though) in my own opinion, i would avoid the zafira unless it's a new tourer and go gor a ford galaxy or something like that. Look on the Facebook page Vauxhall Zafira car fires to find out the full facts that Vauxhall are not telling the public. Good luck in your search for a car x 😊

Karenkovacic · 03/01/2016 11:11

Its not poor repairs causing the fires as one repaired by Vauxhall themseves, and ones that have been 'fixed' after the recall are atill having the resistors fail and some have even caught fire. Check out the Facebook page Vauxhall Zafira car fires and please, sign the petition. #vauxhallcarfires

I had a 2008 Zafira I bought in from an Arnold Clark. I had it 23 days before it set on fire with three children in. The youngest being 7 weeks at the time. Vauxhall are trying to cover everything up and not send people into panic mode. But there are plenty Zafiras still setting on fire. Also a Tourer has spontaneously set on fire to. Avoid Vauxhall at all costs.

Bad, absolutely hate mine. Something is always wrong with it, it's only four years old as well. Trying to sell it now at a massive loss.

Ellie0804 · 03/01/2016 15:09

Never had a problem with mine . I am also keep keeping it. We also own a new Astra, saying that all Vauxhall's are bad is rubbish. There are loads of owners that are still like their car

AmyBecker · 06/01/2016 11:14

What about the SEAT Alhambra?

I've personally heard nothing bad about the car, it's so practical and offers a great amount of space if that's what you're looking for. It's not too bad cost wise either :)

Sparklycat · 06/01/2016 11:24

There's been loads of reports of them setting on fire, would never get one for that reason
