is there a holy grail when it comes to kids water bottles, one that doesn't leak, fits in a lunch bag etc...?

am fed up with soggy lunch bags. most of the time we use cartons, but some days they need more to drink, plus car journeys.

anyone know of a decent kids drinking bottle?

one that ds (age 5) won't chew the spout off too Wink

these www.amazon.co.uk/s/?ie=UTF8&keywords=sistema+drink+bottles&tag=googhydr-21&index=aps&hvadid=6960343609&ref=pd_sl_4m7ugwyjre_b
are best I've found so far, BPA free. If chewed too vigorously they will eventually stop closing - dd chews them to death eventually. Good size

Are they see-through?
DD's teacher insists on seeing through the sides of the bottle Hmm

Got some lovely (now redundant) steel and aluminium ones. That don't leak. But am on the lookout for good see through ones now.

We have those, and though they are coloured, you can see the liquid. They seem to be fairly indestructible, and happily get dragged all over the place, and through the dishwasher daily. We got ours in with John Lewis or Lakeland.

These are cheap and don't leak. You can get them in Wilko. You can see the liquid inside.

Another vote for the Sistema ones. You do need to be sure smaller children are instructed to close the cap properly or they can leak. It is very easy to close but you know what distracted children are like... Yes, they are see through. And second ohmeohmy - pretty resistant to chewing. Think they have them in Waitrose too.

2nd the Sistema ones too. I got them "free" inside the Sistema 1.2l clip lid lunch boxes I bought for the DCs school lunches. Was from Sainsbury's just before Xmas time.

TheNewStig · 07/02/2011 23:44

only caveat - they still have to remember to close the spout (twists down) after they're done or it'll still leak everywhere. just like dd's did today, upside down in lunch bag and spout still open. grrrrrh!

just looking at the sistema ones now, and they seem to come in a variety of different sizes. excellent Grin
