What a total pita. Never a good time for a boring appliance to beak. Don't have 'spare' money just sitting around for a new one. Dh currently looking online. Does anyone have any recommendations?
Economical, good (obv) and cheap!!!!

Are you sure it's completely broken?
Is it possible that the element has blown? If so, you can probably buy a new one online and fit it yourself for about £30.

Yikes!
DIY not really an option then.

I have a Creda, if that's any help.

And BUMP for some helpful suggestions.

I wouldn't mind but I'd just made some meatballs in lovely tomato sauce...all had to be chucked! The flames weren't massive; but they were definitely there. Looking at a make by Candy atm. The key thing is cost. We weren't expecting this!!!
