Can anyone recommend some brands of crockery - not Denby

We'd like to buy some new crockery. We don't want Denby stuff but we would like something that is of equal quality. Does anyone have any recommendations?

I like Emma Bridgewater

I'm a Portmeirion fan myself. It goes through the dishwasher daily without blubbing, the designs are nice and it's easy to add to and replace. Can recommend the factory shop in Stoke!!!

Thanks - anymore?

Another fan of Port Meirion (all mine is seconds too Grin).

Some good stuff in the Wedgwood shop too if you're lucky.

My DH gets all our cutlery from OneIda because they give a 40% discount.

I've used my set of Villeroy & Bosch for about 15 years, goes into the dishwasher daily and, apart from one or 2 chipped small plates due to run ins with my DH, it still looks new. I have the switch 3 and no fading of pattern at all

ps- all my V&B was bought in seconds shops

We mix and match a selection of Burleigh
Ours are all seconds (they have a great seconds shop) and go in the dishwasher.

Thomas Medallion - very minimalist, but has already been around at least 40 years (it was on my parents wedding list!) and is very unlikely to stop being made.
Noritake Arctic White - again very simple but incredibly hard wearing. I keep dropping cups but they don't smash!
Both dishwasher safe!

Our dinner service is Wedgewood, and our day to day crockery is Portmeirion.

The Portmeirion I inherited from my grandma - she used it daily for over 30 years and it is still going strong - I've added a few items to make up the numbers of different types of plate/bowl or whatever. It goes through the dishwasher every day and doesn't suffer for it.
