I need a BPA free lunch box (preferably stainless steel duo box or little boxes/jars)

I am looking for a stainless steel lunch box with compartments. Just like that one from Lunchbots www.littleacornstomightyoaks.co.uk/lunchbots.php

I really like the idea of duo but it looks as this is an only shop in the UK which sells it. The shop is closed till 4th of October. I can order after that but I also want to find out whether there is anything similar on the market. I need it be stainless steel and not plastic because of warm food. There is the thermos one but it is a jar and not practical, also it is a bit expensive for us. Duo boxes are really nice. My DS goes to school with two lock&lock boxes and sometimes he forgets about another box. He is only 4. Lock&Lock is made from plastic so I cannot put anything warm in it. There are also easylunchboxes on the market but the reviews are not that good. Customers say the containers are too fragile. We have had laptop lunchbox but the containers do not have lids except two of them. So, I wonder whether anyone has got any suggestions for me. Would appreaciate your answers very much. Thanks!

hi i've bought quite a bit from www.VUPbaby.co.uk. Their products are free from BPA PVC etc. I got the Thinkbaby stainless steel feeding set which is not cheap but good quality - but the bowl does not have compartments. they are very helpful - may be worth asking them if they plan to stock anything like the duos? hope this helps Smile

Emmasbaby, many thanks for the website. I remember surfing it a few months ago and I do remember that nice lunch feeding set. I think it was orange colour. I cannot find it anymore. May I kindly ask you to give me the brand of that feeding set so I could check it again and see whether they produce anything else. Thans again.

don't get him that! they'll tease him for having baby written on his lunch box

school children are mean :(

this is ok beaba not stainless steel, but bpa free

CaptainNancy · 29/09/2010 14:34

Those containers won't keep food warm though.
I know the thermos food flask is expensive, but it is fantastic, keeps food hot, and lasts years.

No, I will not buy the baby set and neither the Beaba even though they are very cute. :) I think I will need to see the range of the Thermos lunch products. It is expensive and I am just afraid that it can get lost. I like the idea of two compartments like Lunchbots and cannot believe this is an only product on the UK market.

Have you searched for Stainless Steel Bento Boxes or Tiffin Boxes? You might find more options that way.

Like this or this or even this (though perhaps a bit too elaborate for a kids lunchbox!)

oooh i love that first one

Octavia09 · 29/09/2010 18:05

Lionstar, thanks! I like the first two one. I never managed to come across them. I will have a look at this website. Somehow when I search for the products using google.co.uk most of the products come from the US websites.
I have checked the Thermos and it is too small, just 290ml. My DS' bottle is 350ml. I wish they were bigger.

Evrything is so expensive. If it was for myself that would be a different story but for pupil who can loose it...

My Friendly Lunchbox sells some stainless steel food containers from Kids Konserve and you can also order waterproof name labels so they shouldn't go missing in school.

Thanks anna74. I have found one for less than £10.00. A little stainless steel round jar which looks like lock and lock. It is good for hot food. It does not retain food hot as thermos but at least I can put something hot when it is cooked in the morning and not worry about the leaking chemicals (plastic boxes).
