NC for obvious reasons... Has anyone else experienced a sudden increase in their sex drive in their forties?

I've been married to my DH for 16 years and our sex life is great.

I've always had a high sex drive which my DH loves.

It's always been manageable for me and not something that's ruled my life.

However since turning 40 last year I often find myself fantasying about sex and coming up with scenarios in my head when I'm out and about. During physio, in the supermarket, in the gym etc.

To the point where I'm getting hot and bothered IN PUBLIC. Sometimes I'll come home and pounce on my DH which he appreciates.

Are others in their 40's having this sudden spike in horniness or is it just me... 🙈

It’s perimenopause, the sex surge. Enjoy!

Absolutely normal for those of us in perimenopause. It’s very well known and there are quite a few threads on it.

Enjoy!

Well, I did, but I was with a new man.

I’m a lot older now, but I still like a lot of sex. I have been on HRT for a lot of years though.

I've just found this thread while researching if this is a thing. My husband and I haven't had sex for years, none at all but now it's all I can think of. I'd be doing it twice a day if I could.
My husband is enjoying it but he's not that highly sexed and I think the novelty will wear off for him.
I'm in my early 40's.

Always had a high sex drive, but went through the roof mid 40s. My DH is delighted

I’m 43 and same here. My imagination goes wild whenever I am. It’s all I can think about.
