Sudden increase in libido in mid-40s, anyone else experienced this?

Has anyone else experienced a sudden increase in libido in their mid-40s? I'm 45 (nearly 46) and have experienced this since the start of the year. I'm not complaining, it's very enjoyable for both DH and I, I'm just a bit surprised. We've always had a pretty good love life but at the moment it feels more like when we were first together (14/15 years ago). We have three children aged 13, 11 and 3 so it's not like we suddenly have loads more leisure time or anything! I suppose it might be hormonal but my periods are still regular and I have no other peri-menopausal-type symptoms. If you experienced the same thing, how long did it last?

It’s normal as hormones change heading into perimenopause and beyond. It happens to lots of women; some go the other way.

It happened to me in my late 30s and now still there in my early 40s. Just enjoy it while it lasts.

Just to add; I didn’t have any other symptoms either when it first started, but I have been having others over the last 18 months. This must be the first one!

Perimenopause. I felt like an 18 year-old sex-crazed boy when I was 46-47.

I am experiencing increased libido at the moment and I am in my 60’s. DH is saying shame it wasn’t 10 years ago, but we’re enjoying it while it lasts.

I’ve experienced this in the past year or so.

Tbh I feel frustrated that I spent my 20s and 30s being so inhibited.

Thanks everyone, it sounds like it's pretty normal!
