Female condoms

Has anyone had any experience with female condoms? If so please can you share?
My new partner has issues with condoms. They slip off, which is says is due to being circumcised.
Also apart from female and male condoms are there any other barrier forms of contraception?

I haven’t tried female condoms, but I do know that circumcision does not affect whether male condoms stay on. Perhaps try different sizes—a snug fit size?

Yer I just googled it and found this. I’ve googled the condoms he used and it looks like they are a snigger fit already, although I think you can get smaller ones but I feel if I suggested this, this may offend him. Width wasn’t notably smaller than what I’ve experienced before but length was.

Back in the 90s I used them with one boyfriend, it was a brand called 'femidom', they were new back then I think. They go in pretty easy. I definitely felt a bit unsexy with it hanging out of me! But you get used to them quickly.

Overall they were fine and worked well, and he said it felt nicer for him than a normal one (this is why we used them mainly). When I finished with him I never used them again - just normal male ones, they're better I think - smaller, easier and cheaper.

Sounds like he needs to come to terms with the body he has. I’ve come to terms with the fact that I don’t have big boobs, which is why I don’t by D-cup bras and let my boobs slosh around. I buy a snug-fitting bra that offers appropriate support.

Not for me! I tried them years back. They were more expensive than regular condoms and looking down my body l looked like one of those single sheet loo paper dispensers 😀.

More importantly l had little confidence whether a man would go inside of it or (inadvertently) to one side.

As you’ve mentioned the circumcision shouldn’t make a difference. Could you buy some ultra thin high end condoms and pass them off as for your benefit? Maybe something like Lelo Hex.

Thangs a good idea. I could get some and say that I checked them and realised they were snug ones that I bought (he knows I bought some) and it might be worth trying given the ones he bought didn’t fit well.

Ultra thin isn't referring to the diameter, just the thickness of the material. Thinner typically offers more sensation for the wearer, but at some expense of reliability (slightly more likely to split). I don't think thickness is going to help prevent them from slipping off.

What you probably mean is get some in a smaller size? Worth a try, but don't make a point of telling him you've specifically bought small ones, just gloss over that bit. Try to avoid any that that have 'extra small' in large print on the packaging. 😂

Another possible reason that the current ones are slipping off is if he's losing his erection during sex, even just partially (stays hard enough not to have to stop piv, and you may not even notice that he's gone a bit soft, but it could be enough to make the condom start to slip).

Yer I know this re size. I’ve bought some extra snug ones and have made sure they don’t say small on the packet! Yes I was wondering that re erection, he didn’t have any issues with this in general and I didn’t notice either during or a few seconds later when I wanked him off instead.

You could try Exure condoms they have a tighter fit and may be the one's you require.
They are designed for a different market and are on Amazon.

I have the same issue with condoms slipping off as my girth is bigger at the base than head so they roll down.

I remember trying a Femidom & i remember it was a bit like shagging using a sandwich bag.

Femidom isn't very sexy, I can remember hearing it rustling, as a PP said, like a plastic bag!

If he's not very long, try to make sure the excess condom is down near his body (apart from a bit at the tip as usual) as if it's wrinkled along the length it's more likely to pull off during sex... bit like when a long sock ends up in the toe of your wellies after a long walk! Make a point of checking/ repositioning/ replacing it as needed.

Just wondering whether a zip tie at the base would keep it in place whilst doubling up as a cock ring.

I might give it a go & report back.

I think it’s safe to say you guys have put me off female condoms. I am glad I asked here before trying. Sounds like am absolutely turn off 🤣

I used Femidoms for a while years ago but they were expensive and I always had the worry that the guy could slip in outside the condom, meaning I'd have no protection at all. So I just went back to always having some male condoms on me and felt much safer.

Agree wholeheartedly. I was once called names for saying l always carry (regular) condoms in my handbag. The audacity of thinking sexual health is important!!

I’ve managed to source some snug ones that seem to be 3mm smaller than the ones he has so i need to find a way to suggest we use them. They do say ‘snug’ and not small!

Just pounce on him tonight and make sure your new ones are the nearest ones to hand, I doubt he'll complain!

DH is circumcised and that has no impact on condoms.

Yer I’ve figured that it’s more about his size than circumcision.
