Nipple piercings

So hubby has been on a year long weight loss journey, and I set a goal for him that I’d get my nipples pierced when he reached his goal weight, well he has 2 or 3 kgs to go. So looks like in the next months or so I will be getting them done. For those of you that have had them done, what can I expect, what’s the healing like, how long till he will be able to nibble or play with them? And did they make any difference to your sex life?

I have a weird feeling that the piercer will think I’m odd getting them done at the age of 43, but I’m sure that just in my head. I’m a bit nervous but also excited because I do like the way they look

Very hard to heal. MOst painful piercing I have done, and i have a lot. You're talking about a year healing time before any play and absolutely zero nibbling before they're 100% healed. Zero difference to my sex life in that theyre purely aesthetic, but does make me more confident and my partner certainly likes them.

Ok, sorry this is a bit of a negative start, but I do also really really love how they look.

I got one done (I only wanted one done and see how it went before I got the second one in case it couldn't be touched for months - couldn't lose both at once!) when I was 52, so you're fine on that front 😁 It was horrendously painful. Sorry.

When my boyfriend got his done they were massively sensitive 😁 but I didn't really notice much difference. I was worried because I'd read some people saying they lost sensitivity, but that didn't happen either.

But it still hadn't completely healed after a year (kind of came and went) and eventually I got annoyed and took it out. Healed up basically instantly.

Whenever I see an old photo with it in I get sad because it looks hot 😁

A piercer will have "seen it all" and is probably less shockable that an STI clinician.

I had one for about 10yrs and others' experience may be different.

Getting it done hurt like hell, but that was transient. I don't honestly remember how long it took to heal, but it was probably tender for a few weeks, maybe upto a month of decreasing if-you-even-dare-to-touch-it-we'll-never-have-sex-again. Then I loved how it felt once it was healed and it definitely was more sensitive than the other nipple. It still is, years after I stopped wearing it.

From time to time it did un-heal, and it would take a couple of weeks to re-heal. Sometimes that just seemed to happen, but I loved all the different rings, bars, shields etc, and those with screw threads tended to irritate the hole as I put them in / took them out - even when I used (sex) lube: I guess the thread was like an abrasive. I don't think this is the same for everyone, but I'd recommend ball closure rings (BCR) for at least the first very-long-time as they're completely smooth. (Don't buy cheap jewelery!)

Like the PP, I really miss mine and, in my mid 50s, I've occasionally thought about getting one or both redone.

A lot of people get going with body art in their 40s, 50s and 60s, or even older. Some start when they retire because workplace constraints are no longer a consideration. So you've got no problems there. You might as well gve it a go. As others have said above, they heal up quite quickly (maybe even too quickly) if you take them out. Mine were tender for quite a while afterwards, and even now many years later, I can still get a small weep from one or other of them occasionally. A good deal depends on what you like doing with your nipples. Vigorous stimilation will probably be impossible for a few months, if not permanently, but if both parties like being gentle, then you probably won't have any problems. One of mine has migrated a little so the bar is diagonal rather than straight across, but as far as I'm coincerned that's a very minor issue.

Myself 48 and my husband 49 have both just had ours done, ive wanted mine doing for ages and finally did it, it really hurt and they were very sore all day kind of felt like 3 newborns breastfeeding hard on each nipple lol. But now, its settled down and barely know they are there, im so glad I had it done, I love them. Its still early days for mine but so far all is going well. Just be careful with seatbelts and clothing!! Ive found seatbelts to be annoying and have to be extra careful. My husbands went well too and they have got amazingly sensitive for him, he had his done in August and has had no bother at all. Definitely go for it you can always remove if you have any issues xx

Is it awkward when yours and his get caught together?
