He's 34, never had a boyfriend or girlfriend, a virgin, doesn't like the idea of sex or relationships, the idea of sex makes him sick.

Sounds like he’s an asexual. Why are you trying to change him? If the thought makes him sick, why do you want him that do it? Accept who he is.

Wendywooooo · 03/09/2025 11:48

Odd post, it's his life, if it's not for him then why worry?

And he doesn't need labelling either, which seems to be the way with everything these days

CaffeinatedSeagull · 03/09/2025 11:51

Being A-Sexual is becoming more and more popular. I have a few friends who are exactly the same. They’re happy as they are and feel no need or desire to change.

There was a thread on here a couple of days ago that’s worth reading through…

Gymbunny2025 · 03/09/2025 12:22

Tbf you only know what he had told you. It might not be true. Stop asking about his sex life poor guy!

Augustus40 · 03/09/2025 13:16

There is more than one way to exist on our planet.

Tam285 · 03/09/2025 13:22

DS is the same and autistic, it's as valid a choice as any other. Is your ds autistic?

AtYourPleasure · 03/09/2025 15:04

Good for him. Dating these days is more hassle than it's worth.

He'll most likely be a lot happier the way he is.

Angela59 · 03/09/2025 17:50

A very good friend of mine 45, ex forces, has never been intimate with anyone ever, a we do hols, nights out, all sorts
We’re very close but only platonically, even slept in the same bed occasionally.
Enjoys housework while I’m the worst housemate!
Couldnt imagine life without him x

CuriousExplorer · 03/09/2025 17:51

@AtYourPleasure , good point. Contemporary dating is a disaster. Even though sex is fab, definitely times when you can cope on your own.

CuriousExplorer · 03/09/2025 17:55

@paige8039 , I'm 37. Blind guy. Lost virginity at 27. I'm sure your son is perfectly normal, but if he has either a visible or invisible disability, you have no idea how difficult It is to approach women these days. I'd say being asexual is more unusual for blokes, but if he's not doing any harm to anyone, I'd suggest just letting him be. There are worse things he could be doing.

Well good for him

Girlmom35 · 05/09/2025 09:30

Is it a problem for him?
If not, why is it a problem for you?

NPET · 05/09/2025 13:54

It may sound odd/unusual to us, but it's up to him, and being asexual is becoming more and more "acceptable".

Kerkyra2024 · 05/09/2025 15:54

There's nothing at all with that I don't see the problem here

amigafan2003 · 07/09/2025 00:53

Did you have a question?
