Boyfriend secretly recorded us

So as the title says, by bf of 6 years secretly recorded us having sex... This happened about 2 years ago.
At the time I was devastated, shocked and didn't really know how to deal with it.
A few months ago we broke up and it's dawned on me I never asked / checked he deleted it. I feel like I want to make sure it's gone but unsure how to bring this up. We haven't spoken and the relationship is done... What would you do?

Ask the police for advice. I bet that is a crime.
He didn't have your consent.
Let them surprise him and remove his phone from him.

Actually it's a crime to record someone performing sexual acts without their consent. The crime has already been committed.

I'd ask him very directly. Don't bother explaining why you're asking or apologising for your question.

"Do you still have any sexually explicit video footage of me that you took without my consent? If so, I expect you to delete every trace of it. Please confirm when everything has been deleted"

You're assuming he'll tell the truth or do as she asks.

Not assuming no. This kind of direct communication increases the likelihood of him doing as she asks, but it's no guarantee.
If she wants to be sure, the only thing she can do next is turn this into a police matter.
However, OP knows this man better than we do. Odds are that she'll know from his reaction whether he's being truthful or not, and whether she needs to escalate this.

Defo against the law but years ago and he would claim she knew. She has done nothing about it for years. Unless he was silly enough to admit it
