Has anyone ever been in a position of having a three some with a friend? My friend keeps hinting at me joining him with his girlfriend and I’m wondering if it’s a very bad idea?

To start with, ask yourself if this is something you would enjoy - the idea of sex with your friend, or his gf? Performing in front of one with the other? If not, then absolutely not.

If it is, well you still have to think about what you want from it. Is his GF totally on board with it of her own initiative? Or is he pressuring her? It might damage their relationship- not your business on the one hand, but it will affect your friendship.

If you like the idea of a FFM threesome, then maybe try it with strangers first - that way there won’t be any problems (assuming you’re careful about choosing and about protection).

Ref MMF or MFM, forgive my ignorance but what is the difference? Is it to do with who engages with who, like the middle initial plays with the other two?

Totally depends on the situation. You need to be clear before hand though what the rules / expectations are! If you aren't comfortable asking (both of them) then you don't have the kind of friendship that you should be doing this in!
