Sex with menstrual disc

I'm thinking of switching from a diva cup to a menstrual disc and one of the attractions is the possibility of 'mess-free period sex' as the ads promise. But I fear that a penis could dislodge the disc, particularly if the guy happened to be well-endowed.

So has anyone here actually had sex with a disc in, and was it OK - or not?

There was a post on this relatively recently and I decided to get one! It’s been amazing and no mess at all so far. My OH is relatively well endowed and he doesn’t need to be gentle etc. he can feel it but says it doesn’t bother him. I can still orgasm which was a concern for me. We’ve not used on a heavy day yet (mainly as I’m never in the mood on those days!)

I used to use a diaphragm as contraception, which is pretty much the same thing as a menstrual disc (with the exception of being fitted by a nurse to ensure a tight fit so sperm don’t penetrate, plus the application of spermicide at least 15 minutes before intercourse)—but same premise, anyway. It never got dislodged and kept my period blood contained.

I was pleasantly surprised to find it worked well for penetration.

I wasn't comfortable with him going down on me while wearing the disc, but that was more psychological.

I didn't use it during my heavy days, as my heavy days are heavy. I also found it had a strong rubbery smell.

But I'd certainly recommend.

I initially didn’t want him going down on me but when I realised it was ‘safe’ I have and that’s probably the best thing about it imho 😂

which disc do you have? I’ll look up mine in a bit but never noticed a rubbery smell

Edit: I have a really sensitive nose. I pick up on smells long before others do.
