Husband has pain after vasectomy

My husband had a vasectomy about 2 weeks ago now and he said it was all very straightforward apart from when the doctor was working on one side, he got a sharp, lightening bolt type pain down his penis and testicle. The doctor said this can happen but my husband said he didn’t feel anything when the other side was being done.

He is still very tender and said he is still getting these sharp pains intermittently like a nerve pain he describes it.
Is this normal? I know it’s early said but his leaflet from the doctor mentions bruising, swelling and a dull ache but he said this is more like nerve pain. He said the pain can travel down his leg too.

Yes my husband had a very painful moment during his and then had pain for a few years when he orgasmed but not every time.

My husband said having his was his most painful experience ever. He had trouble walking and sitting for days afterwards but it doesn't bother him any more now. Hopefully it will settle down for your husband. I do remember in the meeting we went to they warned him that some men get lasting pain but it's rare.

Is the reason my OH elected not to have one as a small proportion have problems such as infection or mishaps which happened to a couple of work colleagues who regretted it. Your DH sounds though like it could settle but is a little worrying going down his leg as sounds like a nerve interfered with

@NamechangednorthThat’s what I think- it sounds like a nerve has been damaged and I’m worrying. He doesn’t seem too bothered yet but I’d hate to think he’s done this and now he will be in pain

I think I had discomfort for about 1 month maybe longer after mine. The first few weeks were almost unbearable and even walking was abit of a struggle but I ended up using ice packs which helped with the swelling. Every time I walked it felt like someone was kicking me in the balls 😂😩. This was a few years ago but now I’m completely fine
