Pain after first time anal play, normal?

Hi all. Regular MN user but namechanged for this 🤣

So my husband fingered me anally for the first time last night. He used plenty of lube, went slow etc and it was fabulous. He went down on me at the same time and I had an amazing orgasm 🙈 didn't hurt at all at the time. But now, the next morning, my bum is stinging a little bit. Not horrendously and no bleeding or anything but yeah, it's noticeable!

Is this normal for first time anal play? I'd love for him to do it again but not necessarily if it's gonna sting like this afterwards everytime 🤣 does he just need to use more lube?

Thanks 😊

Never never put up with pain from anal penetration. Any pain at all means go slower, more lube, more relaxation.

The pain you experienced is nothing bad, but please don't accept it or try to power through. Anal, if you're into it, should be extremely pleasurable. Any acceptance of pain is going against what your body is telling you and asking for trouble.

Thank you. It didn't hurt at all at the time, in fact it was very pleasurable. It's just stinging a little bit now it's the morning after. Seems like more lube is needed then!

Might have just scratched yourself a little bit? Is it on the 'outside' or 'inside'? Localised stinging in one spot or the whole area? And yes, probably more lube.

I'd say it's more on the outside than in and only in one spot. Best way I can describe it is a bit like the ring sting after you have a bad stomach 😆 DH always keeps his nails short etc but I suppose it's possible he accidentally scratched me!

OP said there was no pain at all @IcecreamWhatSandwich and I disagree a little bit; a little bit of pain during anal play is ok, and likely when bigger objects are there.

I am often a little sore the next day but it’s a nice sore, so what you are feeling is completely normal.

Even short nails can have the odd sharp edge. Give yourself plenty of time to heal fully before you try again and get him to carefully file his nails. Then also up the lube just in case.
Oh, and make sure you are returning the favour. I always think this is a level of trust and intimacy that can and should go both ways.

It may be a good idea for your DH to wear some sort of latex gloves for anal play.

@ThanosPancake a little discomfort might not be unusual, some people like that, others don't. The key here is to make sure that he has not scratched the skin and caused any scratches/ tears as then that creates an infection risk. Might just be that you are feeling a little stretched and tender from that which should pass quickly. Maybe just get him to kiss it better 😀

Glad you enjoyed, and good luck with your future exploration.

You may be reacting to the lube itself, or as someone suggested up thread it’s possible you were caught by a nail. Or, simply too much to soon.

‘Suggest spending more time on the outer area with him adopting a slow circular motion. If he did this previously, however long was spent before going further, double the time. Lube can also be added during the event.

Ok talking as someone who’s both given and received It’s normal, but like others have said cleanliness and safety are are paramount,
Definitely use a good lube and always wear gloves! I’d even go as far as to say forget the fingering if he won’t use gloves!

Good luck, enjoy, the after burning sensation does become enjoyable especially when you progressed to penetrating but please, take it slooooooooooooow!
