hi guys. I’ve just come off the pill due to being on it for a long time without going into to much detail ( spotting in between etc) so I spoke with my health care provider and they said maybe my body was getting to use to it so it was I guess kind of rejecting it. Anyway I decided to take a break from any contraception just to make sure my menstrual cycle was ok etc. so I have decided to track it with the flo app, but what I’m coming on here to ask is if I was to happen to have sex without any protection and it said my chances of being pregnant was low will I still have a chance of getting pregnant? Even if it’s after my ovulation. ( I probably sound so silly asking this but it’s just I’ve never had to think of anything as I’ve always been on the pill. Any answers would be so helpful!)

Hi OP, yes definitely still a chance. Flo will only make predictions based on what data you input. But the fertile windows in the app are just assumptions. You mention it being after your ovulation. Are you tracking ovulation or just going off the app prediction? If you're not tracking with OPKs then the app will just assume a standard cycle that ovulates on day 14.. but this isn't the case for many many women. Its often earlier or later for lots of women. Sperm can also live in the body for 5 days so you need to consider that too. If you're not looking to conceive and need a break from hormonal contraception then you'll need something different like condoms or non normal copper coil maybe, as anything is possible with cycles varying etc. Hope some of this was helpful.

Well, yes, low is still a chance. You can never know for sure.

Flo just predicts ovulation. Thats very different to natural fertility methods people use. If you don't want to get pregnant you can't rely just on apps

Smart women carry condoms.
