Hi sorry this is racking my brain .. I only heard around 2 years ago that the morning after pill wouldn’t work if you have already ovulated.. so I am not on any contraception this is due to medical problems .. but I used a condom and it split :( I worked out my dates right away and I would have been ovulating so I called the GU at the hospital and she basically said they had no appointments and that they couldn’t see me and to call a chemist so I did and the pharmacist was really nice and when I went in and told her all my dates and said that I would have been ovulating and she said that the morning after pill will work as I’m in the time frame ? I did ask her
if I would be better going for the emergency coil.. and she insisted it would work 🤷‍♀️ but it’s been a week since intercourse and I have really tender boobs and hard nipples .. I have also asked to be steralised lots of times but they have always refused with me only being 32 but iv had 4 pregnancy’s already with 2 beautiful children and had hyperemasis with all of them and I can’t go through it again as it is always a full 9 month sickness :( any advice would be appreciated please

Hi OP, sorry but you're correct, it does not work if you've already started ovulating. It only prevents ovulation, so if you think you were ovulating then it's not likely to work. The copper coil is the most foolproof but I'm not sure if your medical issues prevent you from using this. If not, then I'd make an urgent appointment for one. If the pharmacist was that ill-informed I'd really consider reporting her for giving incorrect and reckless advice. Hope everything works out well for you.

It was a week today so I won’t even be able to get the coil now :( she was focusing on the time I had intercourse and the time I had the morning after pill but I did mention 3 times that I was defiantly ovulating according to my period and my discharge (TMI) sorry x @remaininghopeful23

Oh god OP I'm sorry you've been put in this position. I know what you mean, she was trying to say it was within the time frame, but that doesn't matter if ovulation has taken place. She doesn't seem to even understand the basics of how it works?! I'm annoyed on your behalf!
