To be completely off sex

Hey- I am In my 30s and just completely sick of sex, no interest what so ever.

I am prone to recurrent UTIs, had all sorts of test and just unlucky like that. So every time I have sex I get poorly unless I take preventative antibiotics- which I do not want to keep doing.

I’ve had enough of it. My dp is being understanding but I’m abit worried he isn’t taking me seriously. I know it’s not realistic to expect him to never have sex again but what do I do?
Any advice would be appreciated, thanks

I had a similar problem and there is a lot you can do. Because it’s unrealistic not to have sex again. One thing is washing directly befire and after sex ( I don’t actidlly do this anymore as I’ve got lazy) but I shower every day anyway. Also make sure your partner has washed that day too. My consultant said to try not wee before sex so I can per straight after sex. There is also a daily complementary medicine that you can take everyday to prevent utis ( also recommended by consultant). When I get home I will share the name. Also, it may be that your uti is lingering and never originally clear up in the first place. The anti biotics gp gives is 3 days only and quite mild. Will also send you then name of the ones I get which crush infections. I hope this helps!

Oh fab thank you so much.
I currently have to take nitrofurantoin before to prevent it happening straight after sex.
but it’s brutal and makes me feel so poorly.

After years of it I just feel abit fed up x

Sorry lovely! The supplement you should get is D-Mannose. The consultant urologist also suggested taking a pro biotic daily as will encourage good bacteria in the vaginal health area. The anti biotics that completely clears my uti like no other is Trimethoprim 200mg, 2 tablets for 7 days. I have only had one uro this year and have plenty of sex, no issues :)
feel free to dm me anyway if you need to chat x

Fgs talk to a doctor, your GP to start with.

I have! I have been for scans, urologists care and it is the gp who prescribe me the preventatives.
