Have you ever had a wet dream?

I've been getting them since I was around 13. Never knew what it was except I would wake up mid orgasm and it would take hours to finish. Fit days after my glutes were sore! I still get them (I'm 44 and married) but only 2-3 times per year.

Anyone else?

I orgasm in my sleep, not very often. Maybe once or twice a year. I either orgasm or I get very close, usually when I've not had an orgasm for a few days. In the ones where I nearly orgasm, but don't, in the dream I'm searching for my vibrator but can't find it. Or I have it but it won't turn on.

Juli1982 · 12/07/2024 22:46

I have in my sleep when I was pregnant with my last child. I used to sleep with a pillow between legs due to bump, and think added pressure combined with increased blood flow down there was a good combination. Happened a few times being woken with an orgasum :)

lookeelikee · 13/07/2024 15:37

Had one last night. Very lucid. Had to wake myself up from the dream. I'm a straight person and the dream was same sex. Bizarre.

SoYoung · 14/07/2024 02:41

Yes I'm female and have this fairly regularly, at least once a month. I wake up as I'm orgasming. Usually if I've been very turned on that day or if it's been a while. Not as strong as a deliberate one but still pretty good. There would be no way to prevent it, not that I would want to. Usually accompanied by a really sexy dream where I'm absolutely desperate to cum. Or a scenario where I shouldn't be having an orgasm but I do anyway. Like I'm about to be caught masturbating or something.

I'll probably have one tonight now because I've been thinking about this.

I always find them to be more intense than "awake" orgasms. I think maybe because I'm not touching myself in any way, it's purely mind stimulation and blood flow to the genital area and so the build up is incredibly slow. The best one I had was when I went into hospital for a minor op, came home and got into bed for nap and I had the most realistic dream about an actor I fancy who I had been watching on Netflix as I drifted off, and it was so intense.

HarrietTheSpyglass · 14/07/2024 09:46

I haven’t for ages but I have done. I find them incredibly intense too, like I’m absolutely throbbing when I wake up.

Talktalksauce · 14/07/2024 09:59

i have wet dreams (female) and what I find frustrating/annoying is how can I have an orgasm in my sleep with no external stimulation and yet I need particular stimulation during actual sex.

SoYoung · 14/07/2024 19:32

I think it starts as mind stimulation but it isn't only that for me because when I wake up mid orgasm I'm usually touching myself. I think it's a natural urge to finish myself off in my half asleep state.

EmissionsControl · 15/07/2024 10:59

I have been surprised by the range of responses here. As a woman I thought it rare or unusual. I wake thinking myself close to climax but as I try to continue in my drowsy state it takes me a while but the feelings are strong. The 'O' is a slow release one, totally different to the usual fast build explosive end I usually achieve.
I live alone and never experience it when sharing my bed.

ladymichelleZ · 15/07/2024 20:27

I don't think I have ever had a wet dream, not where I have woken up and felt like I had orgasmed whilst asleep, but I have woken up very aroused after a dream plenty of times.

My husband has definitely had wet dreams and still gets them now and again, probably once a month or so. Normally he wakes up at the point he has just had his climax and ejaculated. I think it is really hot that he gets them and much prefer him having a wet dream than masturbating so often.

SportGirl · 15/07/2024 23:27

Yep I regularly have an orgasm in my sleep

Giggorata · 15/07/2024 23:43

Yes, quite often have dreams where I am having sex and orgasm.

i have also consciously decided to have sex when lucid dreaming.
Generally, I like flying when I am lucid, but on this memorable occasion, I conjured up Superman and we had great sex (including oral) in mid air!

EnergeticTigerDad · 18/07/2024 08:20

My wife definitely has them. Sometimes she'll initiate extra-intense sex and not remember later. She usually just sleeps in a little nightie with nothing underneath, so the sheets get damp LOL

Lovelynames123 · 19/07/2024 18:32

I've orgasmed in my sleep and woken up because of it, but disappointingly only a handful of times in my life

girlfromyorkshire · 18/11/2024 16:53

My husband is in his early 30's and still gets them, I'd say every couple of months. He says he did them quite regularly when he was younger but not sure why now.

Ifitaintgotnoswing · 18/11/2024 17:45

I dont get them so often now but 20’s and 30’s i would wake up having an orgasm a couple of times a week.
when pregnant my my 1st there was a time where it was every night and sometimes twice !🤪

valentinka31 · 19/11/2024 00:16

yes, quite regularly

Without sounding uneducated what does a wet dream actually consist of. I read the article but still not sure if I’ve had one as when I do orgasm from sex I squirt and it’s quite a decent amount. But the few times I’ve woke up wet down there it’s nowhere near as much compared to how I would with intercourse 🤷‍♀️

I can't really answer from a female perspective as I don't think I've ever had one myself, not that I can identify or remember anyway. For men / my husband it is probably more obvious and intuitive in that he actually cums while he is asleep. Sometimes he wakes up just after it has happened but most of the times he finds out in the morning.

Dreamskies · 22/11/2024 18:21

I’ve woken up orgasming only once. I’ve had “sex dreams”, though not regularly, and they’re always weird and actual penetration rarely happens! I can’t orgasm from penetration, and I’m not that easy to make cum so it surprised me that it was possible for me to have an orgasm without being touched. So maybe that’s why it’s never happened since 🤣

I’m not a gusher so I wouldn’t know if I’d woken up “wet” as my wetness is generally very consistent, save for the usual monthly changes in discharge.

lucyandmike · 04/12/2024 03:23

Never had one myself that I know about or really thought about it until my hubby, in his late 20's, had one and started to get them quite regularly last year. He said he'd had them when he was younger but recently this was all down to some SSRI medication he started on and it affecting his libido and basically switching off his need to masturbate,
