Viagra advice

My DH has been having difficulties for a while and has decided it's time to give medication a go. I'm aware there are medications other than Viagra.

Ideas of what to try first and dosage. He has no health conditions or other medication. Definitely won't see someone in person so we will be buying online so looking for a reputable site.

The GP will do a blood test before prescribing sildenafil.

Blood tests are at the GPs discretion, really need to get a referral to a urologist for proper treatment, general blood tests, urine tests, hormone tests etc

Pharmacist I assume will enquire about BP meds because taking viagra/cialis whilst taking BP meds is dangerous.
Taking viagra/cialis whilst fixes the problem in the moment may be covering up other physical issues.
GP will request blood tests (may include diabetes, testosterone, kidney function for example) and BP check as well as a conversation about bladder control, urine flow, seminal flow, general health and lifestyle. Depending on discussion might carry out prostate exam and/or request a ultrasound scan of the prostate before any referral to eurologist.
Holistic supplements are also available, saw palmetto or L-argenine which can help, but once again do the research on these products.

Good to know it's not just me, thanks for sharing.

I did wonder if drinking a lot of water would help "flush" it out of your system. If only they did an 8 hr version!

@TomorrowNeverKnows he was trying anything he could haha. I did feel bad but it was a little shocking not going to lie, seeing him kind of struggle with that issue at that age lol. He was mortified and I think my mom thought it was hilarious haha

Try Pharmacia. Great site they ask you medical questions and if all is ok they will prescribe it for you. It is quick and no worrying or seeing anyone and it is posted out really quickly and discreetly. Sildenafil try 25 to start with and if you feel you need more then you can go up to 50 etc. But it seems effective. Good luck

The first time I took a Viagra tablet it got stuck in my throat and I ended up with a stiff neck.

SimpleOnlinePharamcy.co.uk is what DH uses. I can't remember if he needed to send in ID, but I don't think so.

You want a generic rather than a branded one as they are MUCH cheaper while still being the same stuff. Tadalafil has the advantage of not needing to be taken shortly before it's needed, which is ideal if you wake up horny😉

Have to say what you said about where this took place (I see that post is now deleted) is a bit odd given that Tadalafil only has any effect when the user is sexually excited - i.e. feeling horny.

Low dose Tadalafil is taken every day, and it promotes nocturnal erections, which are normal and necessary for good blood flow in the penis.

Nocturnal elections also prevent you from rolling out of bed whilst you are sleeping (well at least on one side)

My husband suffered with ED for a while. Turned out he had an underlying health condition which lowered his testosterone.
He now takes meds for the condition and gets a testosterone injection every 12 weeks.
He is now like a bloody 18 year old in both sex drive and function.

Before taking viagra etc, get checked out.

Viagra won't turn you into James Bond, but it will certainly make you Roger Moore.

Several posters say changing diet helps but no-one mentions alcohol. Teenage boys learn about "brewers droop"! Stay off the booze for a while and see if it helps. Also lots of medication has a warning about drinking alcohol at the same time as taking it because alcohol changes the effect of the medication

I don't think it's normal to ask for ID - I've never had to at Superdrug, Boots or Oxford Online Pharmacy (cheaper one I've latterly used).

The doc who looks at your online consultation would recommend a dose, I think, but I'd imagine it would be 50mg for Sildenafil (generic Viagra) or 10mg for Tadalafil (generic Cialis). The side effects are pretty similar for both with me. I feel a bit flushed about 30 mins to an hour after taking, when they are kicking in. That tends to go away. Going down to 25mg for Sildenafil stops this side effect and generally works fine for me, though very occasionally hasn't quite worked as well as I'd want it to at that dosage. I tried Tadalafil recently, and I think I'll probably stick with it for the added flexibility and spontaneity it allows.

I would at least mention to the GP at some point that you are taking it.

I used to get tildenafil on prescription from my GP as I was on blood pressure medication. After losing a lot of weight I came off all medication, including tildenafil, however, with increasing age and following a recent prostate op I found I need a little help again. With easy availability I couldn’t be bothered to go back to the GP so I can second @MalewhoisLaffinalltheway‘s recommendation of The Independent Pharmacy. A simple quick online form to complete and it’s in the post. Experiment with taking the smallest dose that works for you - I take 25mg, but just cut up the 100mg tablets as they are cheaper that way.
