Taking cialis during a 'heavy' night out.

It's not going to work is it? My dh has recently started having ED issues. It's difficult to have relaxed sex whilst at home as we have teens who are always about and It's a turn off! So if we want more than a quickie we have a night away every 2 months or so. But we both like a drink and also have a meal too before returning to a hotel for the night....
Dh has taken viagra a few times but it didn't really do anything. So he's going to try cialis next time. But I'm not sure if it will be any better? I've read food doesn't effect it but alcohol still does. Now just to clarify he doesn't get falling down drunk but has about a bottle of wine, a few beers then some shots. So definitely drunk but happy drunk and able to walk normal and speak coherently!
Can you only take ED meds if you are only going to have 1 - 2 drinks or none? It's a shame if that's the case as having a party night out when we get chance is great fun and it would be greater still if the night ended in easy sex which it used to do.

We do the same but we usually check in early and have sex before dinner. Then we can eat and drink and have a laugh, any maybe another round if we feel like it but the pressure is off. We find it much easier to have great sex before eating and drinking too much.

Cialis and alcohol are both vasodilators that lower the blood pressure, if he mixes them too much he might get light headed etc

Viagra works best on an empty stomach as PP suggested best to have sex 1st before going out on the town

Cialis is a Tadalafil drug and I've used a different brand under similar circumstances- moderate drink and meal- without any issues.
One thing to be aware of is this drug stays in the body longer than viagra and can be active for over 24 hrs and during this time the slightest thing can trigger an erection so book a late checkout!!
This has put me off using this as first few times is fun but when you can't even do a trip to supermarket without getting aroused it becomes a problem. Good luck

Having sex before would be great but we might struggle to get there early enough. But will try! Would the tablet work within about 30 mins though? Thought it took about 2 hrs to fully work.

'a bottle of wine, a few beers then some shots' - he has all that and he's not really affected? How much does he normally drink a week if that amount isn't having much of an impact on him? I'd be wondering whether his drinking is causing his ED problems.

Cialis works faster, about 30 mins should be sufficient on an empty stomach. It lasts longer too, but I think the effect isn't as strong as Viagra (which is more of a blunt instrument). So if Viagra isn't overcoming the alcohol then I doubt Cialis will do any better. That is a fair amount to drink though. I used to have no problem getting it up after almlst any amount of alcohol, but age catches up with you eventually. Now in my 40s and 4 or 5 pints of beer is enough to prevent it staying up (no ed and no Cialis).

Either had sex first, drink less, or book a late check out and do it the next morning. I usually find morning wood is very strong after sobering up, although your DH might be drinking too much for that to be a sensible time the next day.

He doesn't drink that much regularly. Just kind of has a blowout when we get chance every few months!

Yes it is more of a recent thing he struggles at times. With or without alcohol.

Honestly, that amount of alcohol is very likely the bigger problem here. A bottle of wine plus beers plus shots is not just a couple of drinks, and even if he seems functional, erections can still be a lot worse. So yes, the medication might still work sometimes, but you are stacking the deck against it. Viagra not doing much in that setting does not really prove it fails in general.

Cialis may be a bit more forgiving around food and timing, and tadalafil (www.crossroadspharm.com/guide/tadalafil) may suit him better, but it is not magic against being properly drunk. I think the practical answer is to test it on a night that is less of a full party session, otherwise you will never know what the medication can actually do. If he keeps having trouble even with less alcohol, then it is worth looking at dose, timing, and whether tadalafil suits him better.

When I go away for a weekend of fun, I take cialis on the day before travel and one on the day of travel. I have no problems performing for the whole weekend.. I'm not a big drinker though so can't advise on the results after drinking a lot of alcohol.

Viagra will definitely work if taken before any alcohol is consumed and prior to dinner .
From experience take 50 g around 7 pm leave it 30 mins to get in your system you can then have a couple of drinks ( probably not the quantity you were referring to ) 2 beers and a shared bottle of wine with dinner by 9 30 / 10 pm the Viagra will still work . Large amounts of alcohol and fatty foods are best avoided to get the best results

Yes indeed, cialis lasts longer for me. And the slightest thing in my case was a shop assistant talkng to someone behind me in B&Q!

I’m not sure any amount of cialis will counter the effects of a bottle of wine a few beers and shots, he may not drink this amount all the time but it will certainly not help. Personally I wouldn’t be able to stand up after that amount of alcohol, never mind anything else being able to get up

Given both Viagra and Cialis can lead to massive headaches the next day, I’d be wary of mixing too much alcohol with them.

When is the night? I'd be really interested to see if it works alongside alcohol. My DP takes it and it's made our sex life so much better
