NC for this because I can't believe I've reached my mid 50s and this has never happened before if it can actually happened!

Re your initial question: “You” cant bruise your throat. But someone else can. Other people haven’t because it’s not about size it’s about behaviour. Make sure that, in any future event, you lay the ground rules. It’s about passion which should not be an endurance test.

Maybe ask him to stay passive during the event and you do the work?

Yes I've bruised it a couple of times. Also the possibility of picking up something (not necessarily an STD, but in early days with new partners I often react to even the bacteria on their skin as it's new)
