I may be in the minority as a woman who likes to watch porn (ethical obviously) but a question popped into my head while I was err....having a lie in, this morning. There is often talk of death grip on here. If there was a female version of it what could it (or is it) called?

I very much doubt it. If death grip is a thing, it is probably caused by too tighter hold, that a partner’s body can not replicate.

From what I've read, "death grip" is a myth started by an unqualified "sexpert".
My guess is that, because there is a feedback loop involved with masturbation, which isn't present during sex with a partner, regular masturbation can reinforce specific neural pathways, and your body can become accustomed to a narrow range of triggers for orgasming. Considering the female and male genitals are derived from the same physiological structures, I see no reason why the issue should be more prevalent in one gender than another, other than, for cultural reasons, the received wisdom suggesting that men masturbate more than women.
(I think I think about these sort of things too much.)
