Anyone have advice about this fetish?

I'll try and keep this as brief as possible. NC for obvious reasons.

My dh enjoys a particular fetish centring around food and mess. Aka sploshing. I found out about this about a year into our relationship by seeing his internet search history. He never volunteered the information and at the time it caused a few issues between us as I felt like he hadn't been honest with me. However as the years have gone on he has opened up much more. We've watched videos together and have loosely discussed the logistics of doing it together.

To be clear this isn't a bit of whipped cream we're talking about, the things he watches are extreme. People literally covered in gunk, head dunking etc. Personally I don't really get it but I can also see that it's not a dangerous or particularly unpleasant fetish either. To me it just seems a bit daft.

That said, we are thinking of trying it. This is major for us. It will bring us closer together if it goes well, but I'm just struggling to see how we can make it work logistically. We recently had some building work done and have a shit load of plastic sheeting left over so dh thinks that might work. But I'm still a bit nervous. I'm not much of a performer in the bedroom and I don't fully understand what I'm supposed to do here.

I'm willing to give it a go but I don't want to feel a fool and I don't want dh to regret mixing fantasy and reality. Does anyone have any experience on this? Or maybe there are some

Well, top marks to you for being prepared to have a go at your man's fantasy, without understanding too much about it, and without humiliating him over any aspect of it.

Even if the reality of his fantasy doesn't turn out to be as exciting as the idea of it, he has to have nothing but love and respect for you for having a go. At the end of the day, this isn't going to end in either physical, or mental pain for you. You are going to get messy, but so what?

If all goes to plan, you may get hugely rewarded by seeing him very turned on. I hope that is what happens and I have nothing but respect for you in doing this for him.

Maybe it's easier to start small and build up to larger scale scenarios. That gives you a sense of the balance between the play itself and the amount of clean up time required. I'm not into this myself, but I'm told by those who do that they scavenge through charity shops, jumble sales and the like for outfits for messy play - things like wedding dresses, ball gowns, business attire and the like - so that if anything gets permanently stained it's not a tragedy. I suppose what you really need is a wet room with a shower and a drain in the floor. Or maybe a paddling pool would be a good idea.

Hi @namechangeonemillion1 I hope you found some good advice on love honey but just in case you didn’t thought I’d share a few things as although it’s not a fetish for me I’ve definitely dabbled with this kind of play and had some really good fun.

It does need a bit of planning and you do need a bit of kit. I’ve used both visqueen (plastic sheeting) and a paddling pool. I wouldn’t bother with the bits of left over sheeting you can get a huge pice that would cover a whole room for under £20 from screw fix. The visqueen is good for messy play but it doesn’t give you any depth for that the paddling pool is good.

Another thing to consider is the warmth of the liquid or products as it can be cold especially this time of year and that can kill the fun. So you may need s big pan or dixi to warm things up. A large rice pan from an Asian wholesaler would do the trick a little expense .

Hope that helps a little. Give it a go it’s a laugh and is proper fun. The first time I did it was with just visqueen and baby oil which maybe not your fellas thing but it’s and easy way to start. I think you should also remember that you’re ace for even thinking of giving it a go and to just take it slow and lean into it maybe choose your favourite foods so he’s meeting you half way bit of Nutella or even champagne!!!
