Sex drive back after mirena removal

And omg is my it back…
I always had it until I hit perimenopause when it just vanished. I had sworn off men and sex for good and was happy with that… and then I removed my coil (to experience and make peace with my periods before they stop) and now I have constant thoughts about sex… argh

the things my neighbour and I have done in my head… lol , whoops

I’m single and have the toys (mains powered wand) but I want skin on skin and kissing, I’m gonna have to start casually dating.

so I guess just a heads up for anyone about to remove their coil. 🤣

My late wife had the Mirena coil and was very sexual/sensual with it fitted. I'm not sure I could have kept up if her libido was heightened if it was removed?

I had same after stopping the pill. I thought sex just wasn't for me anymore until I went into coper coil, no hormones therefore, and voila!!
I felt quite betrayed for not being more warned about my doctor about this significant side effect. It's as if it wasnt considered a big deal as blood cloths as you wont die out of non-horniness but it probably killed my marriage. Sure could have researched, read the small print, but I just didn't think it could be a result of the pill.
I'm now single and enjoying sex again but I lost probably 10 years of a possibly healthier relationship in parts because of it (obviously wasnt only reason marriage died but its important!)

There is some research to back you up. There's evidence that hormonal contraceptives can reduce libido and there are also some claims around them affecting women's sexual preferences at different times in the cycle. Chris Willix spoke to someone on his Modern Wisdom podcast. I think they were saying that previously straight women could develop a decreased preference towards masculinity.
