Pubic hair

Is it really a problem if a woman doesn’t remove all pubic hair? Do most people shave/wax it all?

New FWB has just implied that I should shave, he’s not the first to ask but most men don’t seem too bothered. I haven’t replied to him as I am a bit pissed off, I am reasonably fit for my age, not really attractive but not ugly either, he is very over weight and quite a bit older than me. I kind of feel he should appreciate what he’s getting (or probably won’t be getting now).

Is pubic hair really a big issue when it comes to sex/oral?

just to add….I don’t have a if bush, I’m neatly trimmed.

I’m not that into him, let’s just say the first time was a bit disappointing though I put it down to nerves on his part. We have been friends for a while and now I’m kind of wishing we hadn’t stepped over the friends line.

You are allowed to step back again. Just because you've DTD with him doesn't mean you have to keep on doing it.

He sounds as though porn has influenced his view of sex. But then, he's allowed his preferences, and you are allowed to tell him to jog on.

Completely up to you what you want to do with your pubic hair whether you want to do nothing with it or get rid of it all or anything in between. Nobody should feel any pressure to do one thing or the other, partners may have some preference but that should not dictate what you do.

What do people do today? I work in the hair removal business (waxing and laser) so I think I have a pretty good idea. Of course, I only see people interested in hair removal so can only say what they are doing, but it seems a good indicator. For a while now the trend has been to remove all the hair down there and be completely smooth, women have been doing this for some time and I also have many (and increasingly) male clients who are getting all their pubes removed. I see all ages from 20's to 60's, women, men and lots of couples that come in together.

Abhannmor · 19/02/2024 17:51

100% of your clients agree with you re having a bald pubis . Imagine.
What with shaving and circumcision most Americans have never seen another adult naked as nature intended. I wonder if that is a symptom of their problems , or a cause.

MovedonfromMartin · 19/02/2024 17:56

@ladymichelleZ can I ask your advice with 1 persistent ingrowing hair please?

EnergeticTigerDad · 20/07/2024 05:03

My wife chooses to have everything waxed (front and back LOL). I love the smoothness, and think it's sexy knowing she's always secretly bare down there (she's a prim and proper pediatrician at work), but it's of course her decision, not mine.

Namechangeonthisboard · 20/07/2024 08:25

I didn't used to be although very well trimmed. Then for our wedding I had the full wedding beauty package of treatments which included waxing of whatever extent. I did as a bit of a laugh and also dare from my Bf and bridesmaid who accompanied me.

Was a nice surprise for my DH on our wedding night but he loved so much I have stayed like that. I must admit I have now got very used to being hair free below and it feels strange if I go too long. DH loves me like this and now (several years on) always compliments me.

As ever...it's all personal choice

K8ate · 20/07/2024 11:36

Personal preference should prevail but hopefully we will see more women keeping their bush.

That's no different than saying personal preference should prevail but hopefully we will see more women shaving

My wife had a full bush when I first met her but she did shave it for me as a surprise. She is Indian and as part of a family tradition she had a full body wax for our wedding. It was amazing! She still gets Brazilian waxes regularly so bald is basically the norm for her now. It feels so lovely and smooth when she comes home after.

Partly trimmed partly shaven is quite fashionable.

SportGirl · 21/07/2024 11:08

I don't like the idea of completely taking all my pubic hair off because it makes you look like a pre-teen girl, think guys like that because it is what they see in porn, I do trim my bikini line though just so no pubic hair sticks out when I go swimming

So with this logic, men who shave their faces look like pre-teen boys???

I assume you retain your underarm and leg hair too, otherwise you would look like a pre-teen on that basis?

My vulva does not look similar to a pre teen, l’m a 36F up top, so l certainly don’t look pre-teen when naked.

Anotherlurkingmale · 21/07/2024 12:45

Porn and programmes like Naked Attraction I feel have made it unfashionable for women to go without shaving or waxing. I prefer the look and feel of a woman with pubic hair, it's sexier in my opinion though everyone has their own personal preferences and noone should feel pressured to change how they look either way.

Oh look at me I'm a 36F, it is my personal preference to keep my pubic hair down below

That’s fine! That’s your choice. Neither of us look pre-teen. I assume you have underarm hair and hairy legs too. If that’s your style proudly rock it.

I don’t think it’s a prerequisite to have to keep your underarm and other hair just because you don’t shave/otherwise remove your pubic hair.

JL690 · 22/07/2024 10:13

It's hair, it can be styled any way we want it. Why do we got so worked up about it? Bald is beautiful, full bush is beautiful everything in between is beautiful, all personal preferences. Like @StarlightLady my preference is bald and I look like a bald adult, not a child.

It’s not. But it does challenge those who have a go at those of us who choose not to keep our hair. It’s personal choice. But you rarely see posts saying “you should remove that bush”.

SportGirl · 22/07/2024 22:21

I do shave my legs and arm pits but any guy who asks me to remove my pubic hair I send packing

StarlightLady · 22/07/2024 22:40

@SportGirl - l would not do the same for anyone! But l don’t do it for anyone else. I do it because it feels right for me. All off since late teens now in my 40s. But genuine question, why do you feel legs and underarms OK but other parts not? I don’t have a problem with anyone keeping or retaining their pubic hair.

I prefer the texture of a full, natural bush and the stronger scent it has when I give oral.

Text him back
'Next time a six pack'.
What an arsehole. There is no chance my mouth would be ever going anywhere near his dick again.

He sounds like a twat.

Yes, my thoughts too.

JL690 · 24/07/2024 14:43

Everyone where I live must shave it all off. I tried to buy refills for my Venus Pubic Hair razor at lunchtime and 4 out of 4 places had none! My first thought was they have stopped making it but it's still available online.
