I went there about 15 years ago.

I described it as a waiting room in a prostate clinic that had been furnished by Mohammed El Fayed.

The girls were attractive & the costumes were elaborate- mini kilt and tartan waistcoat for River dance. It felt like theatre where each scene was a different girl stripping. It was very quiet with no chat between dances.

We've been, and eroticism elusive but they made an attempt. For a more assured night out the Crazy Horse better show cases burlesque. Whereas ChoChotte aspires to be something greater, to bare the darkness of desire as well as flesh. Five girls rotate acts, choreographed but part improvised, in a small downstairs theatre, interacting with the audience and at times more intimately, themselves. It's meant to be an avant-garde, immersive experience, where stripping is elevated to a confiding in, an emotional undressing as well as physical act - a dispensing of bourgeois layers till stood there naked wearing just their masturbation face. High kicks and feathers this is not. And does it work, or the emperor's clothes moment in reverse? That depends I think on the night, and the audience, and ambience and chemistry that happens to soufflé. It's risque'. In an artistic sense, because may flop, and also because - spoiler alert - the girls often target couples. You can bashfully decline, no one pounces, but when weighed if weaken to their purring flattery, expect them to return and test your boundaries. Improvisation means they like to enlist. Seek out props. Two in my case. 'There's no shame here' as my DH still parrots! So definitely not for everyone, but definitely a different night.
