Abdominal pain after Anal

I’ve never had Anal before but today hubby and I tried it. There was no issues at the time but ever since I have been unable to stop passing wind, feel like I need a poo but can’t and have cramps. Is this normal?

Anal sex has always featured occasionally for us for as long as we've been together (over 27 years). It's just one part of what we do every so often when the mood takes us. @Mermaidparades gives really good, practical advice here.

Key things to remember are total relaxation, real gentleness and consideration on his part, verbal communication - especially at the start, you knowing that you are in total control of speed, depth etc, plenty of lube, and starting really, really, really slowly. It's also worth knowing that the rectum isn't straight like the vagina but curves backwards towards the spine. Another reason why gentleness, not a quick initial thrust, is so important.

Given, it's not for everyone and I'm sorry you've had discomfort. But we've found it can be a pleasurable alternative from time to time.

Thank god it's normal!
Me and my DP have done it a couple of times and I really really enjoy it but i thought the aftermath was so embarrassing, definitely not something to be done during daytime fun if you have anywhere to be after!

Has anyone had any long term issues after anal with their bladder? I was seeing someone until recently and after an evening drinking we had an epic sex session which was great, only I realised (when it was too late) that he went back to vaginal after anal and obviously that’s a high risk of transferring bacteria. Que 5 days later feel like I had a UTI, a bit of blood on tissue and bladder felt like it was going to burst pressure wise as soon as I’d finished weeing. I didn’t see the GP for 3wks hoping it would go and by then no infection showing. Nothing showed in the lab sample they sent off. 7wks later I’ve still got the same symptoms, urinating more often, more urgent need to go and feels painful / pressure when I wee (throughout now not just at the end of the wee). So annoyed with him for being so reckless, first time I’d properly had anal sex and he had zero concern for my health it seems. I now have a bladder / internal scan to see if they can identify the problem.

@Zanatdy That was certainly thoughtlessness and ignorance on his part. I hope you can get sorted. Perhaps with a course of antibiotics.

I'm sorry to hear that @BabyST and @Zanatdy have been unwell and hope you recover quickly.

We're always really careful about anything that could spread microbes from the rear to the front - a good wash in the shower, and if fingers have been at work then a good scrub under the nails too. It's hard to eliminate microbes completely, but the fewer there are to spread around the better your chances. it's worked for us so far, anyway!

Sorry, that's not meant to sound like a criticism of others, just an example of how OCD we are!

You’re right to be. I’ve been waiting to have a go at him about it but he’s avoiding me! Selfish behaviour and now I’m suffering for it. I should have stopped him but by the time I realised it would have been too late anyway. I’m sure he was aware it was a reckless thing to do

It's not and should not be how they portray it in porn.

Lots of prep, going very slowly and keeping very clean is important. More lube that you could ever think possible.

DH and I have had practice and we are only just getting it right

Mischance · 15/04/2023 22:19

Anything that requires half a ton of lube is clearly not meant to be and there are likely to be consequences, as some posters have found out.

Each to their own Mischance ay.

There are consequences to anything if you don't take care and prepare.
