I've recently got my sex drive back after 15+ years of zero interest, DH is delighted (he has been amazingly patient) and we are having more sex now than ever.
I'm in my late 50s and have previously had a hollywood style wax and would like to have one again. My issue is I'm worried about what the waxer would think. I'm a bit overweight and flabby especially in the abdo area and I'd hate to be sneered at.
I'm currently shaving but regrowth is fast and my pubic hair is very coarse and I hate the feel of it. DH doesn't care, he's just delighted I'm permanently horny!

Can anyone reassure me that I won't be judged and that this sort of waxing isn't just for the young and toned.

Beauticians are like health care professionals, they see vulvas of all shapes and sizes! They want to make their clients feel beautiful and confident and they will definitely not sneer.

They won't care in the slightest what you look like, they will see hundreds and hundreds if naked men and women a year and will not even bat an eyelid

Honestly don't worry. I have a regular wax along with other beauty treatments and now have full waxing as part of my regular visits. I was nervous the first time, part of which is because of her seeing me completely when previously I'd just had a high bikini line wax. It was her who suggested I have a proper full wax as she could tell I was shaving the rest after a wax.

She reassured me she does several full waxes a day and reassured me how popular it really is and also said it's great for her as a significant part of her income. She chats away to me when she is doing it like she is doing my facial or nails.
They see that many vulvas a day it is meaningless apart from minimising the discomfort...which I find if fine now

It will just be the nerves, once you are in there and on the bed and start chatting about holidays etc the time will fly by and you will come out wondering what the fuss was about.

The waxer me and the wife use is a family friend, I progressed from chest and back waxing to intimate waxing. I was nervous at first but she told me she does loads of her friends and family and it doesn't make a difference once you've seen one naked person you have seen them all.

She could tell I was nervous at first and was reassuring. Now I'm that comfortable with it she doesn't leave the room whilst I get dressed/undressed which at first for me was a big thing

At least I can offer hope to other overweight oldies who haven’t had sex or any other intimacy for years. HRT, magnesium supplements and a DH of over 30 years who is bloody good at oral sex and I’m now one creatively horny woman who can’t get enough.😆😛. There’s hope for everyone.

I’m a little younger (40s) but don’t give age a passing thought, I’ve been a bald eagle since my late teens. Looking at myself naked in a mirror, l can’t remember what l looked like with pubic hair.

It’s not an age thing. I just tell myself l used to be younger anyway.

Don’t go for your wax just before your period, you will be far more sensitive then. Also don’t have sex the same day. Maybe twice the next day to make up for it 😂.

When you spend your day looking at crotches, I'm sure beauticians barely notice. They're just getting the job done.

Well I had it done today and it was fine. The woman who did it specialises in waxing both men and woman. We had a really good laugh and I’ve booked in for another in three weeks time. Love the smoothness.😀

The only thing I can put it down to is an increase in HRT dose ( although that was a few months ago) and/or I started taking magnesium supplements just after Christmas. After about three weeks it was like flipping a switch. I’m now very rarely not up for it. 😜
After at least 10 years of being very rarely even slightly horny ( the last time I had any form of sexual contact prior to the last month was once during the first lockdown) it is nothing short of a miracle.
