I wondering how much of an issue it is here?

Do women posting questions, asking advice or giving their opinion get dodgy men trying to PM them?

If so what do you do about it? Block? Report?

What do mods do about it?

I've had two I reported one.The mods said they banned him. The other one I told to do one and blocked him.

Sometimes, I just don't reply if I'm not interested.

Obviously nobody should receive them but it's good to hear the mods acted.

Can I ask why you didn't report the other?

That work fine I guess so long as they're not persistent.

I guess the worry is it may be triggering for some women who have a history of abusive men but still want to post here for help or advice.

If they were persistent I'd block. I have a history of an abusive man. I understand that a message might be triggering for some, but to be honest I find a message on a screen a lot less triggering than things that occur in real life.

Never - maybe it's the fact I'm 61 and frequently commenting that my libido is now zero!!!

I have posted on this board every so often under different names and never received dodgy PMs. A couple of women reached out from conversations on the board to continue to talk privately, but they were definitely women as not remotely pervy and found them talking about other stuff on other boards.

The men are very easy to spot, and most are up front about being male anyway.

Some women on MN can’t believe that women are interested in talking about sex and get offended easily it seems. That’s fair enough but then I would advise to stay away from the board.

Noones ever messaged me. Feel a bit left out 😂 although I wouldn't want messages from men anyway. If a female reached out I'd happily respond.

Thank you, that's reassuring. I been around for years but haven't visited this section much and was beginning to wonder if it was as supportive and safe as I'd always assumed.

A place where women and men can talk together openly and respectfully about sex feels like a valuable resource.

I do understand concerns about an influx of over sexed men but I've not seen much evidence of sleezy behavior.

I'd hope that a request for female only responses would be respected.

I moderate a male dominated vehicle forum and its hard work. Ive often felt more comfortable on MN because it is female led though that has been shaken a little the last few days

I had a few unsolicited messages from men after I posted on a bi women thread and on a different fwb thread.

They weren't offensive,explicit or sexual though and when I said I wasn't looking for a man or wanting to chat they stopped messaging.

I would only report a message if it was offensive, unsolicited and sexual or if I had specifically said not to DM me. So far a simple 'no thanks' has been sufficient.

I’ve had some women pm me from comments left, I reply if interested ignore if not , would expect same from a woman though depends what the dodgy messages are, wouldn’t send one myself it would be a simple would you like to chat
