Sudden heightened sex drive?

I'm 27, female, been with my partner for almost a year and sexually we work very well, very satisfied and we have sex probably 5 out of 7 days a week as a minimum.

Suddenly, over the last 5ish days, I cannot get enough. Whenever, wherever. What could be causing this?! I haven't changed/stopped any contraception or medication, nothing in my life has changed apart from my sudden increase in an already high sex drive. Any ideas?

My boobs have started to hurt today, I'm due on this week, could it be hormonal?

Possibly ovulation? I get absolutely rampant around that time.

@cherrymiss I'm due on tomorrow, so surely I'd have ovulated a few weeks ago? Unless it's very late ovulation - though I've had no signs of this?

Could be hormonal if you're due on. Have you taken a pregnancy test 👀

I took one yesterday but realised it expired a year ago - it was negative but I'm basically acting like I didn't take it as I can't imagine it was accurate after it's expiry. I usually come on late Wednesday or Thursday so if I haven't come on when I'm home from work tomorrow I'll take a new test (am in date one!).

Maybe you're broody and keen for a child but just haven't intellectually processed/caught up with that feeling yet? Your body can be broody before your brain is!

@DonnaBanana I have a potty training 3 year old, no part of me is currently broody 😂😂 I say that as a colleague bought her baby in yesterday and I spent 2 hours cooing him.

@Season0fTheWitch not pregnant! Period was actually early, I can only put it down to hormones I suppose! DP is away now until Thursday though so we'll see how I am once he's back 😂

Some people do report feeling extra horny just before their period arrives! Wonder if it's the body's way of telling you to have sex now, because you might not be able to for a few days 😉
There are lots of studies atm looking at how hormonal contraceptives are affecting desire & libido. Might be worth a look.
