Tattoo - Will it be unattractive!

I am soon reaching my 40’s, I would like to get a tattoo at the top of my leg - (thigh) it’s not going to be huge but will be visible to DH when we’re naked. He is not keen on tattoos at all, I don’t know whether to go ahead with it anyway but I’m worried he then may find me sexually unattractive? Or am I overthinking this?

What shall I do, take the plunge (no pun intended!) or forget the idea?

Nobody can answer this question for you, I’m afraid it’s one you must answer yourself.

l am similar age to you (early 40s) and have a small bespoke tattoo on my shoulder from about 30. It was designed by someone very special to me, the tattooist was selected carefully from discussions with others and she came with me when l had it done. I have no regrets.

My only advice would be, choose carefully, don’t go for a body part which would become particularly saggy with age. You might also like to think about how it would appear when you are laying down as well as standing up.

Thanks Starlightlady, I already have two smaller ones, he doesn’t mind those as less visible but he doesn’t like the idea of anymore and one in such a visible place. I think I will mull it over a little more.

OP, on a day to day basis, how visible is the top of your leg?

Not visible on a day-to-day work basis unless I’m wearing shorts but I guess he may find it off-putting if it’s on my leg and I’m naked. I was only ever meant to have one, then I had another and now I want a third 🙈

Only you / him can really answer this, I think tattoos are really subjective rather then objective, personally I like tattoos, but if your DH doesn’t like them, then yes, he will probably find you less attractive
