I've caught it
No warts on genitals
Wart has appeared on my face. Will it go ?
How long before (if) the HPV goes.

Will I get cervical cancer from this ?
Can I pass it on by touch alone

From my understanding, most people who have sex will get it at some point and it's not a huge deal. It doesn't mean you'll get cancer. I've had it in the past, but at my last smear test I tested negative for it. I've never had warts.

Op, my smear test came out positive last year for HPV. I was horrified as in a relationship but a friend who is a sexual health docter explained that there is no actual test for hpv so there is no way men can really find out if they have it. Apparently those who come to her clinic are only treated for cosmetic reasons ie genital warts etc however its not something they are concern about. Women are checked via the smear tests. The doctors said it was nothing to worry about and this year I had my test again and it was clear.

Similarly for herpes, you can't test for this, a test will only show if you've been in contact with someone who has it. However it can lie dormant in so many.

Hi OP - there are over 100 different types of HPV. Some can cause cancer. Some can cause genital warts. Some cause ordinary (non-genital) warts.

I'm no expert but I think if you've got non-genital warts then it's not one of the types that are potentially cancerous. But I suggest you talk about it with your GP, who can advise more reliably on risks, precautions and next steps.

Hi @Eesha 👋

You've got a cold sore? This virus is different to genital warts. You can buy cream from the chemist to help clear it up.
