Orgasms and antidepressants

Hi,
I’m wondering if anyone else has found a solution to this?
I really struggle to O and it massively impacts my drive because I’m taking antidepressants. I struggle to get wet, it’s nowhere near as intense or sensitive and it’s really frustrating.

I'm sorry, I've experienced the same when on ADs in the past. It's bloody annoying. And very frustrating. How long have you been on them? Are you able to orgasm through masturbating?

Are you on them temporarily or is it a long term thing? If it's short term, then as long as they are working, I'd wait it out. If it's long term, talk to your GP about alternatives. There are ADs that might work better for you. (Amytryptyline for me - but it affects everyone different.)

It’s a long term thing. I just increased the dosage and noticed a massive difference in everything 😔
Took me back to how I was before I was on them. I guess with time they stop being so effective maybe. I don’t know

I'd try some lube, some of them can enhance your sensitivity too. I'm not on AD, but currently going through surgical menopause, and lube has been a godsend. There's lots of different ones out there, worth buying some different ones to see which you like and work for you.

I did when I first started sertraline but it did resolve itself. Maybe the change in dosage has affected you, I'd wait it out a little if they are working for your mental health and see if it changes.

The Havelock Clinic has this info sheet which is aimed at health care professionals but it might be helpful re different types of meds: thehavelockclinic.com/sex-and-ssris/medication

I hope things improve for you.

I've been on long term AD but it's never affected my ability to orgasm, I guess everyone is different.

It's just a new different, you get used to it, I have been on AD for man he years and the first year was the hardest to orgasm but I did when I put the effort in but trust me sometimes I just could not be bothered, but after as while you do get used to the new normal, now it depends on how me and dh work for it 😉

I had no sex drive on a low dose of setraline. Tried other antidepressants until I found one that didn't effect it.
