Bowel movements during sex anyone?

Embarrassing and worrying issue I'm having lately.

Ive been seeing a new guy for a couple of months. It might be relevant to say we've had anal sex a few times and I do wonder if it is connected. He also has a large penis.

A couple of weeks ago, I pooed myself during sex. I was completely mortified and he clearly was a bit, but handled it well and we carried on after a clean up.

To my shock, it happened again last night. We were having sex in cowgirl position when I felt a tiny poo slide out!

It is making me feel so unsexy. I do experience some IBS symptoms sometimes but this has been the case for over 10 years and this never happened with another partner. Has anyone ever experienced this?

I have no advice, if you have IBS symptoms, I can see how this can happen.
Is it happening during anal, or vaginal sex as well?
Last time I pooped myself, it was in front of two midwives, my husband and my mum whilst giving birth, so I guess it could be worse ☺️
Have a discussion with your partner about it, it’s great you both handled it well 🙂

Lizzie523 · 26/10/2021 22:24

During childbirth I can understand! It has only happened during vaginal sex. Now I think about it, both times it has happened has been during cowgirl.

After the first time I worried it would be a permanent turn off. I almost worried he'd never call again!

I don't want to have a sex life where this becomes the norm. I still can't even see my GP in person and not sure how this would be looked into really Blush

I have heard of this happening before. The woman concerned was postmenopausal and suffered with chronic faecal incontinence due to a childbirth injury which had gone untreated and worsened over time.

Definitely rule out any further anal until you've worked out what's causing this problem.

Can you insist upon an in-person GP appointment? Alternatively, I wonder if your local sexual health clinic would be able to help?

This article is useful, it sounds like maybe his penis is putting pressure on your bowels in that particular position, try other positions for now and see if that helps. The GP should be able to advise you for now, until you’re able to get a face to face appointment. If he hasn’t been put off by both times, it doesn’t sound like too much of a big deal for him Smile

@Rocaille it is just so embarrassing and unpleasant.

I'm still young at 30 so a bit shocked to be experiencing incontinence during sex all of a sudden. I might start with the sexual health clinic. I just perish the thought at how they might examine me or look into it!

Meanwhile I'm dreading having sex again.

it is just so embarrassing and unpleasant. Of course, I really feel for you! Flowers

The article Violet posted is interesting. She's probably correct about the reverse cowgirl contributing to the problem. It's quite plausible that in cowgirl position, your partner's penis will be pressing against your rectum.

For what it's worth, I've always found the staff at my local sexual health clinic to be really kind and non-judgemental. Weird sex stuff is just another day at the office for them!

Good luck. x

Definitely talk to your GP just in case OP. They will give an initial telephone triage appointment but if they think you need to be seen in person after that, they will do so.

Do you really like this guy? Maybe your body is really into it.

Have you had any weight gain or changes in what you eat that might've altered things?

He obviously likes you. x

P.S. I'm not fond of reverse cowgirl position but maybe that's just me. It could just be something the configuration of his particular penis and that position does to you. Perhaps stick to other positions.

Inthesameboatatmo · 27/10/2021 06:49

Oh you poor thing op that must be absolutely mortifying.
It might be due to the fact he is well endowed. Give anal a rest for the time being while you get checked out but agree with pp his penis might be putting pressure on the bowel. Or the anal has in some way loosened things up there a little more due to his size.

labazslovesliving · 27/10/2021 09:32

might be obvious but try to have a bowel movement before sex and maybe try other positions

Vegiepatchy · 27/10/2021 10:44

You could see a physio that specialises in continence issues. They are used to dealing with all these issues so might not be so embarrassing?

Vegiepatchy · 27/10/2021 10:47

Also, cowgirl is an uncomfortable position for me because of my retroverted uterus, so it could be that some body parts have moved a bit during anal and are putting more pressure on that area, or maybe your sphincter has stretched a bit so isn’t doing it’s job properly in that position?

me4real · 27/10/2021 13:02

If I were you, I would really not like this at all- your anus is not all that far in front of the bloke's nose and you defecate.

I would not do that position again.

He obviously really likes you.

VanGoghsDog · 27/10/2021 18:12

She didn't say it was reverse cow girl, she just said cow girl, so no her arse won't be in his face (how short is a man's torso, btw!!?)

Anyway, I'd have a fibogel orange early in the day and make sure you have moved your bowels before sex. And don't do that position.

Do see the GP just in case, I've had to have plenty of anal examinations, they're used to it, try not to be embarrassed.

I did this! Thought I had it covered Blush

Yes it is plain cowgirl. Don't really want to give it up as we both enjoy it so much and it is really the only position that gives him a real break/where I take over the work!

It is just tricky as sometimes I meet him straight after work so can't be taking fibro gels all day Grin

I'll need to drink more of something like that though. Peppermint tea helps sometimes too.

It just seems odd that it has been happening with this guy only and after anal sex. I don't know whether it is about his penis, anal or me! We have such a great time but it does put a temporary dampener on things - and it is horrid to be worried I've damaged my backside after a few sessions of anal!

Was the anal rough?

Lizzie523 · 27/10/2021 21:29

No @Rocaille not painful/not rough. But I am wondering if it was just a bit too enthusiastic!

OP posts:
altmember · 27/10/2021 22:25

I think if the anal had caused it, you'd be having problems at other times too, not just during sex. So it's more likely to do with the size of his penis and the angles involved during cowgirl - putting pressure on your rectum in a way that hasn't happened before. Definitely worth seeing your gp about though.

me4real · 27/10/2021 23:15

Ah ok. Maybe try different angles when you're on top? Like leaning forward on our arms, bending backwards holding your ankles, or whatever's different to what you tend to do.

But please have a check up just in case.
