Do many women only fancy their crushes in certain roles? My wife fancied one particular guy from This Life (and he was playing an arrogant bastard) but less so in another show where he was a much nicer guy.

Yes absolutely. I’ve watched actors in roles, and then watched interviews with them and they seem dull in really life.

An example for me would be Benedict Cumberbatch playing Sherlock.

Then you get the ones that seem sexier in real life than their roles are - James McAvoy

And then those that are both. See Tom Hardy.
