Embarrassing reaction to swallowing

Ok - first off, I'm so sorry for the tmi, and I am very embarrassed to be asking Blush. But I'll be more embarrassed if this happens again, so I'll be extremely grateful for advice /opinions etc.

Dp and I met Jan 2020, and moved in together about 3 months later. Sex has always been really good, certainly the best sex I've ever had (and I am no spring chicken)!

With dp I have enjoyed swallowing not spitting - this is something I always used to hate. When we were newly together, there were a couple of occasions when I had an immediate and embarrassing response (within 30 mins) of having swallowed. No stomach ache at all, just a visible response which I only realised when I went to the toiiet. It only happened a couple of times and I put it down to me not being used to him, and I'd forgotten it had ever happened at all.

Anyway - it happened again at the weekend for no reason at all that I can tell. Neither of us had eaten anything unusual for us, neither of us were ill in any way, it didn't taste any different to usual (sorry).

So what happened? Has this happened to anyone else? Is there anything I can do to stop it? I really enjoy swallowing but now I feel worried to do so.

Thank you and apologies again for the content of the post, not sure where else I could ask,

Could it be a coincidence? You might just have a dicky tummy and be attributing that to cum.

What proportion of the times that you swallow are you having a reaction? Are you doing it on an empty stomach? If it's not a problem most of the time, I wouldn't worry. I'm no doctor but I'm fairly sure that swallowing cum won't harm you. If you get it in your eye though.... 😬

Cremately · 01/03/2021 22:13

Thanks so much for replying @PinotPony.

It's prob only happened about 5 times in 14 months. Don't think it's been on an empty stomach and don't think I had a stomach upset prior to the event. That's what's troubling me - how do I know if it will happen! I don't want to rush off afterwards and check every time, but I would be mortified beyond everything if I had a visible reaction and didn't realise.

I was an early bloomer and I’ve got to my early 40s and it’s not something I’ve experienced.

As others have suggested, l suspect this was a co-incidence at first. Now l suspect you are panicking about it, which is subconsciously causing the problem.

Sparkybloke · 02/03/2021 08:40

Seems unlikely to be caused by swallowing. Apologies if too much info....I had stomach cancer 11 years ago so got to know far too much about the digestive system!

On average things take around 24 to 48 hours to work from swallowing to the other end so to speak. It varies person to person.....so if your reaction took just 30 mins it seems extremely unlikely to be swallowing semen that caused the issue...as a PP said you probably had.some sort of upset anyway. Finally if you notice any blood in your poo or any long-term (more than three weeks) change to normal behaviour of your bowel it is extremely important you get it checked out with your GP...really important!!!!!. I left mine almost too late....by the skin of my teeth I lived to tell the tale...

Cremately · 02/03/2021 09:46

@StarlightLady thank you so much for replying. I'd love to think it's coincidence but I don't think it can be :(. I've only ever had this happen after I've swallowed dp's semen (not every time).

@Sparkybloke thank you for your reply too, and I hope my post hasn't stirred up painful memories. I'm very glad you survived that horrible time. It does seem very strange that this has happened - I know that usually food poisoning can take longer, as can stomach bugs. But these instances were certainly within the hour, and likely around 30 mins afterwards.

The first time it happened, which was before we'd moved in together, we'd met outdoors. I drove home and the first I knew anything had happened was when I went to the toilet for a wee.

I wondered if it could be some sort of allergic reaction and wondered if anyone else has experienced it.

Anyway - I'm so appreciative of all your replies, thank you loads : )

Check out what he had eaten before hand.

For example if you have a nut allergy and partner had eaten nuts before you gave him a BJ and swallowed you would have a reaction.

Mydarkside · 02/03/2021 15:53

I get stomach cramps every single time I swallow especially on an empty stomach but it doesn't bother me as they don't last long and it's worth it

Opentooffers · 02/03/2021 22:54

It's too soon to be directly linked, as a previous poster said. However, if you had swallowed the day before also, it could be a cause, but if not, then I'd guess it could just as easily be muscle spasms during orgasm causing leakage, or pressure on bowel caused by PIV. Can only suggest a healthy diet and an empty bowel prior to sex in general.

Cremately · 03/03/2021 10:55

Thanks for further replies.

It's just happened again :(. And it's probably only just been an hour. Definitely no longer, probably slightly less. No pain, no stomach cramps, nothing unusual eaten.

Would I be able to post this in chat do you think? Just thinking there'd be more traffic there and I could ask if anyone else has encountered it.

OP posts:
Cremately · 03/03/2021 10:57

Are there any other forums on which I could ask this does anyone know?

HaggisBurger · 03/03/2021 17:23

@Cremately I’m not sure what would be gained by knowing this has happened to someone else though? 🤷🏻‍♀️ I mean it’s either you are getting some kind of IBS / intolerance to swallowing his cum or you aren’t. If you are, then the only answer sadly is to spit. What else will you learn? And no. MN won’t put this on chat.

Cremately · 03/03/2021 17:49

I suppose there's nothing to be gained really but I just wondered how usual or unusual it is. I've never heard of it happening to anybody else so I was interested to know if there are remedies or measures that you could take to avoid this happening.

I guess like you say spitting might be the only option which seems a shame - it's taken me this long to get round to liking swallowing! But maybe that's the way to go - thank you anyway.

When you say you only noticed it when you went for a wee, what exactly is happening? Is it diarrhoea? I’d be less concerned about what caused it and more so about the fact you didn’t notice you had done anything until you went for a wee. Didn’t you feel it happening or smell it? Damp underwear?

Cremately · 03/03/2021 21:54

Yes, diarrhoea (god the glamour!). But no stomach ache, no cramps, no smell. Actually, it puts me in mind of what breast fed babies produce. And I suppose it does feel a bit damp but I've put that down to having been aroused. It's bizarre.

@Cremately

Not for nothing is it known as a "blow job". What you can do, as DP ejaculates, is to relax your mouth slightly and blow very gently so that the fluid escapes round his penis. A subtle clean up on the pillow then and perhaps followed by a snowball?

Spitting always seems a rejection?

Lolwhat · 10/03/2021 18:07

It doesn’t sound related, I would think something else is going on

Mellonsprite · 10/03/2021 19:46

Do you know you pass mucous from your anus? Could it be that, instead of diahorrea if it doesn’t smell?

Parkerwhereareyou · 10/03/2021 19:59

'On average things take around 24 to 48 hours to work from swallowing to the other end so to speak. It varies person to person.....so if your reaction took just 30 mins it seems extremely unlikely to be swallowing semen that caused the issue.'

No sorry but it is possible. I too sometimes have the same. Well, between 1-3 hours after think hey what has happened? What did I eat?

I imagine it depends actually on what he ate or drank!

I still love him, though.

Parkerwhereareyou · 10/03/2021 20:00

it's not mucus.

It just goes straight through. I worked out I think it's if it's on an empty stomach.

Whatliesbeneath707 · 11/03/2021 21:16

@Cremately it is a thing. Google it- there’s a few reports from women saying this happened to them. There was also some advice on how to reduce the chance of it happening (don’t swallow on an empty stomach etc).

Cremately · 11/03/2021 21:59

Thank you for the further messages. I'm glad (sort of!) @Parkerwhereareyou that I am not the only one! And thanks @Whatliesbeneath707, I don't know why googling hadn't occurred to me but I'll go and give it a try now :)

I just thought I'd come back and say that I finally got round to googling this - even found an old mn thread from 2015 with someone who experienced the same! I was surprised to see that it's not all that unusual - made me feel a bit better!

It seems that prostaglandin is the problem and there's something called seminal plasma protein allergy. Doesn't seem to be any real solution though apart from maybe eating something immediately before swallowing or drinking water soon afterwards.

OP posts:
StarlightLady · 03/04/2021 09:36

Drinking soon afterwards seems a simple solution if that cures it.

I suspect a glass of water or a glass of wine afterwards, depending on the time of day, is something most of us do anyway.

Or else don't swallow. When he is close to orgasm, hold it in a well lubricated warm hand instead.
