Hi I have just had my mirena coil in for over 3+ years not due to be taken out until 2022 and usually never miss a period I have not gotten a period since November, also (TMI ALERT) having clear stringy discharge and had really bad pain in my left side of ovaries lastnight. Scared to do preg test anybody else have these issues on mirena coil?

When I had a mirena and now that I've got Levosert I don't have periods

I have no experience with Mirena, but I think you need to get to your GP quick smart. You may have an infection or something.

I've had a Mirena the same amount of time and have had bigvariations in periods, some months none, short cycles, long cycles, breast pain/nothing for a year, signs of ovulation/nothing for a year etc.

I'd do a pregnancy test now so you know for sure either way. Then if negative talk to your GP.

I’ve got the mirena coil, not had periods since around 6 months after having it put in. Also get a lot of discharge around ovulation and now get the worst period/ovulation pains than I’ve ever had - those only started in the last 12 months and I’ve had mine in a similar amount of time as you.

I had an ectopic pregnancy due to this. Pregnancy test and speak to your gp urgently. If the pain worse, straight to A&E.

Used to have one in, no periods for 5 years with it. As you still have periods, you might ovulate occasionally also, so the pain in your side was likely mittelschmertz, which fits in with increased clear discharge during ovulation time - totally normal that. This doesn't necessarily mean you will get pregnant, as the merena coil also stops the lining of the womb developing making implantation difficult, also thickens mucous to cervix making it harder for sperm to get through. Did you not read up on this before having it? Its quite normal for periods to become less or non-existant with one. But for peace of mind, take a test if you like.
