When did everyone have sex after birth?

Hey.

I'm 5 weeks PP and tried last night to have sex but wasn't pleasant and but painful so we stopped.

How long did people leave it until they tried?

I'm scared my vagina is ruined forever haha!

I suffered with shoulder dystocia in labour so was painful and complicated. Might be why

@ the old "joke" is did you have a private room. The old advice was after the check up

About 6-8 weeks I think? But I had to have c-sections both times and, so my fandango wasn't beaten about

15 years for me!

My DW1 was stitched up by a male doctor after giving birth to DS1 and it was a good six months before we achieved almost painless PIV. After DS2 a female nurse looked and said something like - Oh my god who stitched you up last time, what a mess - we had PIV about 6/8 weeks later.

Just short of nine weeks. I bled for eight weeks, then the doctor gave me some tablets which stopped it within a couple of days and we could proceed. It was OK when we did, neither of us had minded waiting and my stitches had healed well. You hear about people doing it almost straight after birth but that must be a bit yucky and wouldn't be good if they had stitches.

4 weeks but I waa lucky and had an easy virginal birth

It’s not pleasant at all until after finished breast feeding to be fair so while the time to try is only a few weeks the actual time to wanting to was years

Probably waited the 6 weeks with my 1st, 10 days after my second and it would of been sooner if id had my way. Dc2 was very very sick and needed surgery at a week old so I think we both needed that closeness from eachother.

12 weeks for me. I had to get back into shape and the little ones sleeping through the night.

It was 6 months and then very sporadic after that (she had a tear). To be honest it was a problem until she gave birth again 2 ½ years and tore again, only this time it was stitched and healed properly. However it's probably down to fewer than times a year in the 16 years since :(

About 6-8 weeks after my first but it was uncomfortable for a good while afterwards, about 10 days after my second. Tearing and stitches first time but not with my second, obviously made a big difference.

Around 4 months I think. We were exhausted and I suffered with complications of a traumatic labour and birth for a while. DD didn’t sleep at all for several months so it was infrequent. We’ve only just got things back on track and she’s over a year now.

11 days and 13 days I think. Both sections. But having some 'fun' from about day 4-5, with my first (second one we had a toddler round so no chance).

3 weeks and I was a bit nervous in case it was shit but it was very good 😊

Um, about 4 months after DC1 and 9 months after DC2. DC2 now coming up to 2 and finally feel like sex life is back to normal, and quite enjoyable again.

2 weeks but I had an easy birth and no tearing or stitches.

3 weeks after each DC. Both straight forward vaginal births.

Sounds like hardly anytime when I look back, but at the time we were both gagging for it after 2ish weeks

Dc1 - bad tearing, stitches etc coerced reluctantly at about 4 or 5 weeks. Very painful.
Dc2 and 3 ( twins, c section, different partner, unsurprisingly) about 8 weeks. Initiated by me. So enjoyable.
