phantom orgasms again - caused by hysterectomy ???

Well what a lovely lot you are on here ! Who knew ..

Inspired by MySuperSecretName thread I thought I'd raise my own issue with orgasms that are virtually non existent .

Ever since hysterectomy mine are so so different ,and hardly worth bothering with . I had assumed this was due to lack of muscle contractions which had previously been uterine based .

But ...I'm thinking this can't be a universal issue as more would be said about it .

Any advice ,experience ,thoughts ??

Can I ask how long ago that you had the hysterectomy?

I had one aged 38, am now on HRT patch, and I noticed total loss of feeling/muscle contraction afterwards which really worried me but I do pelvic floor exercises regularly and regular sex/orgasms and the muscles have firmed right back up its as strong as it ever was, so do not lose hope. Do your exercises and continue to have sex and I think over time it will improve

Hi OP, do you know if your cervix was removed during the hysterectomy? If so, this can affect your ability to orgasm. It's not always discussed prior to the surgery as the evidence for this is inconclusive but some women certainly report a loss or change to their orgasms after surgery. Sorry if that's rather clinical!

Op.was 20 years ago and yes cervix was removed .

Thank you for your replies .

it feels to me like loss of uterine contractions ,same region as period pains .So those muscles are no longer there to strengthen with exercise are they ?

I wonder why loss of cervix has an effect .And would having no cervix be detectable by partner do you think ?

Ah well ,I've googled stuff about orgasms and the cervix .And now I reckon it's the loss of the cervix that has effected mine .

I had my cervix removed too and the feeling is still the same now as it was before. DH says there is no difference in sensation to him.
