Hi,

Me and Dh have been married a year. We have been together 6. Have a dc together and 2 from previous marriage.

Dh suffers with low mood/depression.

This has caused his sex drive (which wasn’t great In the first place!) to drop to practically once every 6 weeks.

He barely touches me, doesn’t like me touching his body etc.

I don’t know what more I can do. He won’t get help. I’m at breaking point. My confidence is literally zero because he doesn’t come near me.

He isn’t cheating or gay. It’s clear it’s his low mood.

But how much more can I take? He doesnt let me touch him. I try talking to him most days, he knows how I feel.

I can’t remember the last time we had foreplay. Over a year ag.

In reality why should his low mood give him the right to ignore your wishes and feelings? Is he fully aware of how you feel? I suspect he is - and he could choose to rectify that to show you some affection which would benefit the entire relationship.

As someone who has suffered from depression and low mood, under those circumstances, you don't think rationally and find it incredibly difficult to find the will to take proactive action.

He needs help and the best thing you can do is support him and encourage him to see his GP who may prescribe anti-depressants or suggest some kind of therapy.

Hard hard part is the first step.

When depressed, sex is the very last thing on your mind and it;s not something you can snap out of.
