If you get asked to go on snapchat and send pics without face or recognisable features, what are the pitfalls? I dont think its a good idea, my friend cant see the harm. Thoughts?

Well first of all, any photo taken with a mobile phone or modern camera will have metadata attached to the image. That gives your location away immediately (as in you could narrow it down to 2-3 houses).

You haven’t even got to try to be a stalker here - if the recipient saved the image and was using an iPhone for instance then Apple will very usefully show you on a map where it was taken.
You can strip the data off the image or you could turn off location services while you take the picture if you really must send photos.

If there are no faces go on the internet, find a close up of a vulva and send him that.
As long as the quantity/ colour of pubes match he wont know the difference!

Same with boobs.

Clever @

@Newman2018 is the location thing on all apps? Or just Snapchat? I’ve recently given in and let my daughter have it, only allowed her to be friends with real life friends and have disabled comments etc, but will this keep her safe?

NameChangeNugget · 23/12/2019 04:47

Just don’t. It’s illegal to send images like that.

Namechangedyorkshire · 23/12/2019 07:21

Since when has that been illegal to send images like that. Only illegal if falling into a certain category like under age.

Picture with same coloured pubes lol....probably struggle to find those ...more likely without lubes

Honestly I think sending pics is risky but yes plenty of people do it

Namechangedyorkshire · 23/12/2019 07:22

Sorry pubes and not lubes lol

StarlightLady · 23/12/2019 07:53

Of course it’s not ilegal under UK law.

Newman2018 · 23/12/2019 08:19

outherealone - I don’t know for sure about Snapchat or other apps. However, if I took a photo now on my phone and emailed or texted it to you then it would contain the data and you’d have my location.

Of course it’s not normally a problem but it could be if you were sending naked pics to a stranger on the net etc....

NameChangeNugget · 23/12/2019 09:04

The 2003 Communications Act made it illegal to send images that are “grossly offensive” of an “indecent or obscene” nature

StarlightLady · 23/12/2019 12:10

The type of pictures being discussed here do not fall into the above category.

Justaordinarybloke · 23/12/2019 19:22

Snap away....you may find it turns you on knowing the receiver will be turned on.
