Urethra discomfort after childbirth

I gave birth 9 weeks ago which was a good and dare I say it enjoyable and problem free, “natural” birth.

After a few days I noticed a discomfort in the urethra, which is not accompanied with a burning sensation when I pee. The drs are unsure of what may be causing the discomfort but seem set on labelling it as a STI (I know my dh and myself have not cheated or an STI).

Has anyone else experienced the same or similar? Does anyone know what the discomfort may be?

Are you sure the Dr didnt say a uti even with no burning you can still have a UTI i would think its the most likely explanation

Hi

After I told her of the discomfort she actually asked if I had any concerns of a sexually transmitted infection. She didn't suggest a uti at all. None of the midwives have even suggested a uti. I will go back and see another Dr I think.

Thanks for your suggestion Wink

Yes i think it would be the best thing to do, it must be very worrying to suggest an STI when you know there is no possibility, and it could cause lots of trouble between you and your dh,
Hope you get it sorted, let us know
