Blacking-out during sex

Regular poster incognito etc etc.

All my sexual life, I’ve had this thing where I’ve occasionally blacked-out once I’ve orgasmed. It’s happened with different partners, when I’m on my own, in different positions etc. Sometimes, it won’t happen for a year, and then it’ll happen every couple of weeks. There’s no pattern.

However, it does seem to happen when I have a particularly intense orgasm/multiple intense orgasms. I just suddenly feel lightheaded and pass-out for a couple of second or minutes. I mentioned it to my GP previously and there was no issue with blood pressure etc so he wasn’t concerned.

It’s been happening quite a bit lately- maybe every tenth time I have sex. Last night, I orgasmed several times in short succession and went out cold. My husband was obviously concerned (he was on top and I suddenly just slumped my head back). Also, of course he then stops and I feel bad that he doesn’t get to finish.

Has anyone experienced this?

Obviously you need to see a gp. It's not rocket science. Go to the doctors

@coplings I have- I even mentioned it in my opening post.

GP did tests and said it can be common.

Well, I think you need a second opinion. It is most definitely not common to become unconscious after orgasm and I feel it is wrong for your GP to dismiss things on the grounds that your blood pressure is OK. I would not be happy with the way your GP is dealing with your concerns.

sounds like you need a referral to a neurologist pronto

You definitely need to see a doctor. However, it's not unusual during intense orgasms/intense multiple orgasms for blood pressure to momentarily spike causing a black -out for a couple of seconds. Again though, definitely need to see a doctor regardless.

Any ensuing headache?

La Petit Mort is a well recognised phenomenon. If tests at the gp have all checked out then that's good.
Fainting episodes due to intense stimulation are not uncommon I have the rather more scary version in response to intense pain. Made labour rather interesting. I breath hold in my episodes too. Had full neuro check including EEG no abnormalities.
